Delirando. Mejor viaja a Korea.
The kingdom of Silla? There is little archeological evidence for this and thought to be myth. As for the cocking of the leg before kicking being a Korean innovation, ha! Savate has always had this technique. And so it's logical to assume that it was "borrowed" (to put it nicely) from Savate. Note that the first WTF form is taken straight from Shotokan Karate, and considering that there was a Korean man (Choi) who claimed to have invented Taekwondo and who just happened to have been a black belt in Shotokan Karate, leads one to assume that Taekwondo is just a mash-up of Korean Shotokan Karate practitioners that found themselves out of favour once the Japaese occupation finished, considering that Shotokan is Japanese Karate. The more I look into Taekwondo the more I think it's a farce.
+boxerfencer The Savate was inspired in martial arts Oriental, sailor men from france learn to kicking when surfing in de oriental ocean and the oriental coast. they not show innovation only learn from Oriental Culture.
intrepido 007 That's an old wive's tale, and not based on anything concrete but hear say. If it were so, Savate practitioners would kick with their legs straight, as most oriental arts (Taekwondo being the exception). The truth is probably the opposite, Taekwondo probably stole the idea from Savate (an example of Oriental culture taking something from the West).
boxerfencer The precise origin of the art is unknown even to their oldest practitioners. It is known that sailors 17TH, Marseille, had to practice some kicks and stretches to keep in good physical condition for their trips through the ocean. Some historians speculate that these sailors were influenced by the relationship with some martial arts in Asia during their occasional visits to Burma, Thailand and China. According to a popular legend, the origin of the French boxing is home when a sailor, such a Michel Sanary,I visit a brothel and refusing to pay went the bodyguard of the place.Sanary was champion of the Navy and was considered a great fighter, but the small Chinese it defeated easily basing its strategy on attacking him legs in general and knees in particular. This defeat meant that the sailors copiasen these kicks and began to use in their fights.www.kickboxingmma.es/historia/HISTORIADELBOXEOFRANCES.htm
boxerfencer You Europeans always wanting to be presented as the cradle of civilization and are not , the ink, the paper, the compass come from China, the first printers also, the Algebra learned of the Arabs. You have only been copiones and then hijack the inventions as do the yankees now. In the middle ages all were illiterate
intrepido 007 Look these isn't a conversion about ethno-centricity and revisionist history. Stay on topic. I can't put stock in old wive's tales, but let's look at the facts. Taekwondo is a new martial art, and in my estimation its innovative cocking of the leg is obviously taken from Savate, considering that Savate predates Taekwondo. Besides, what makes you think European sailors didn't teach orientals a thing or two about fighting? You honestly think everything was invented in the Orient?? You think everyone China has always known how to read and write? What about the majority of the population, the peasants during pre-communist times? Did you know that rituals (of which forms and katas are a part) are indicative of illiterate societies? So if the orient was so literate historically, why do they have so many katas/forms in their martial arts? And since you brought up the superiority of Oriental culture, did you know oriental writing systems are based on picture characters, and are a far cry from having an alphabet. Picture characters are so inefficient. You need to know about 2 000 picture characters to be able to read Chinese (if I recall), while a European alphabet of less than 30 characters is all you need to read and write an entire language. Still, to this day they're writing with PICTURES. So is this supposed to be advanced? By the way, our modern alphabet, by which you have the ability to respond is not oriental in origin, and even your mother tongue ("copiones" gave you away) is European.
