@jonathan - I think this is the Miyako, Haruna and Asami show. The drums are insane, almost unreal! Asami really shines! But, of course, Miyaki wrote it and just killed it on piano and on guitar and being so beautiful.

The Chopin piece Miyako (guitar/keyboards) is playing in the intro is "Etude OP10, No. 12" known as the "Revolutionary Etude."
In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was called the "November Revolution" but ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agent presented "Etude OP10, No. 12" in Paris. Because of the agent's exaggerated publicity, people called this piece "Revolutionary Etude.
Miyasako composed "Swan Song" based on this "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony.
Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude" and inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake.

You win the prize for the most prolonged jaw drop in Lovebites reaction history. Now you truly understand why I spend every evening watching every new reaction, and so do so many of the names both before and after my own comment. It’s because we’re not fans of this band because they’re great musicians, or because they’re beautiful, or because they produce such amazing melodies.
It’s because we love them…in the very best sense that that expression can be used. I love this band. How about that for honest emotion?
      Great reaction Wolfpack brother.

@@alekhidell - The total synchronicity after the silence is due to them playing to a click track. I think they always do that. This is also why M&M can keep total synchronicity even though they are at opposite parts of the stage. But, you are totally right. It gets me every time. Often reactors chose to pause there and then they miss it. And then I sigh. Pity!

Lovebites is on a whole different level than any other Metal band. They are Epic in every regard and that translates for many as Emotional in the listening experience. You feel the messages their sound and techniques are delivering. The lyrics are of Strength, Virtue and Beauty and their Music spans a broad spectrum of many familiar and classical Greats of years past. Not many guitarists can play a Pro Recital Chopin Piece and then in a 6 count grab the guitar and finger tap across the board like EVH was her teacher. Miyako and the Whole band is just In Fricking Credible. Every song is a literal Epic Journey be it in Thrash,Power or Traditional Heavy Metal. They absolutely own.

Frédéric Chopin (pronounced "show-pan") is a Polish composer from the Romantic era and the piano intro at the beginning is derived from one of his works called "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", also known as the "Revolutionary Étude". It is one of the more difficult piano pieces to recite because of the relentless use of the left hand, and virtuoso lead guitarist and pianist Miyako performed it with ease. She's also the composer and arranger of "Swan Song"

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor), with a passage from Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto #2 as the outro. For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows.

while it is true that Chopin gained appreciation for his genius in France, and embraced the French pronunciation of his name, it is inappropriate to correct someone who uses the Polish pronunciation of his name. as you correctly point out, he was born in Poland. he did not move to France until finishing his music education in late 1830, a few months before his 21st birthday. he fell in love with the French people, and their culture, but although more people have learned and spoken the French pronunciation of his name, and in 1835 he earned French citizenship, he always considered himself to be Polish, and both pronunciations of Chopin are equally correct and accurate. he spent almost 19 years in France, and sadly was taken from us by tuberculosis in 1849, at the age of only 39.

Actually was friends with a Polish Fighter pilot from WWII,(RIP Zygmunt-1998). And after listening to him tell me the stories of how Poland pilots out performed all others in the Battle of Britain, the Winged Hussars saving Vienna in 1683 and defeating Russia for independence in 1918 to form Poland, this song hits hard with that Chopin(Chopin was Polish, pronounced Showpan,) intro and Miyako closing it out. Love the lyrics and the feel.

@lanuiiohu actually it's the opening part(Chopin part, 'Revolutionary' etude) that relates to that failed attempt to oust the Russian controlled govt in 1831. The closing is Miyako's blended influence for a fitting ending to the piece.

Lovebites are my favorite band since i know them. But as you asked for some other bands to check out my recommendations are here:
Nightwish from Finland (Symphonic Metal, Folk Metal)
The Warning from Mexico (Mostly straight Hard Rock with some Grunge/Punk influences)
Jinjer from Ukraine (Metalcore, very groovy, sometimes a bit jazzy or even Reggae sounding)
Band-Maid from Japan (Hard Rock, they go in many different directions in a proggy way, everything between Metal, Punk, Blues, Jazz, Pop Rock, beautiful Ballads)
Voice of Baceprot from Indonesia (Groovy Metal, inspired by Rage against the machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others)
All of them are at least female fronted or all female bands.
And of course continue with LOVEBITES and Nemophila…

    LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
    Oh brave soldier
    Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
    Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
    Floating lotus
    You are so graceful
    Saintly and glorious
    Till the end of time
    Floating lotus
    You are so beautiful
    Sing me your sweet song
    The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
    Oh brave soldier
    Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
    Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
    Floating lotus
    You are so graceful
    Saintly and glorious
    Till the end of time
    Floating lotus
    You are so beautiful
    Sing me your sweet song
    The legend of the swan
    SOLO: miyako / both
    Floating lotus
    You are so graceful
    Saintly and glorious

Glad you enjoyed it. At their core they seem to wield power metal across a variety of peers from Metallica and Judas Priest, through Queen, Sabbath and Helloween, landing at times in Slayer and Testament territory, yet they do all this with their own sense of composition and flavour.. amidst the japanese metal scene I tend to feel they're quite something. On the musical side of matters it was Queen who first drew me towards Japanese culture with the song "Teo Torriatte" from 1976's "Day the the Races" album (a fine track to look at too if I'm honest - a bit off the usual Queen path which people tread!). I feel that it they hadn't explored that way I may have never found these ladies, or indeed any of them previously mentioned.
