    Friends it's not that the food is bad that made you sick, it's natural and expected that you will get sick because your stomach is not used to it. Most foreigners are told and warned about it, they call it "La venganza de Moctezuma" which translates to "The Revenge of Moctezuma". This is folklore you can look up online and basically means you will end up on the toilet for a couple days following your food splurge! Totally normal, and after you had it once you're all clear for future adventures. Greetings from the U.S.

    Geeeez... Would everyone just stop saying incorrect things?
    I know US people are used to the big yellow variant, but what we use are *LEMONS* not limes... Actual limes are used mainly in Yucatan peninsula's cooking while everywhere else we use *LEMONS* ...
    Did I forget to mention that those little green things being squeezed on top of tacos and other foods *ARE LEMONS?*
    Limes are very mildly acidic... Those round green things are higly acidic *GREEN LEMONS.*
    Got it yet? *THEY ARE LEMONS.*

    Of course, if you'd traveled to Tijuana to try your first taco, you would have gotten a taco considerably larger but, in addition, a good dollop of creamy avocado pure on top accompanied by sliced cucumbers and whole radishes! There, they cut the meat off the "trompo" directly into the tortilla.

    13:17 - I'm pretty sure that white "sauce" on top is what we call "sour cream" in the US - and "crema agria" in Mexico. It's not any "sauce" that's prepared with flavorings added, but just a state of fermentation of dairy cream - that is common in North America and Mexico (not Spain for whatever reason). How about Germany? I thought sour cream was common in Germany - Sauerrahm (?)
    Another thing that could be is "Table Cream" - which is a fresher version of cream that is used in Mexico on savory dishes. If you tasted no sourness in that cream like you do for Sauerrahm, then it may be Table Cream.

    • @isabelleandflo
      @isabelleandflo  2 года назад +2

      Yeah you’re right, we know sour cream from Germany! It was definitely not sour cream, it was quite tasteless and not sour at all. So it might be table cream. Never heard of that before 🙈😀

    the white sauce is just sour cream,
    tacos is a way of eating, doesn't refer to a dish ore the generic name to Mexican food, taco means putting your food (any food) over that tortilla and folding the tortilla, therefore chilaquiles are not made of tacos, It would be the equivalent of saying that a flammkuchen is made of a sandwich 😂

    No such thing as a Mexican lasagna, the sauce is authentic and so is the cheese. They would never use pasta sauce for that dish or any, that’s an authentic dish. Also thanks to Mexico, Italians have tomatoes 🍅
    Also no such thing as Nachos or burritos 🌯 that’s a Tex-Mex thing from Texas so it’s North American 🇺🇸

    • @juliocuentero
      @juliocuentero 2 года назад

      Hay dos platillos que recuerdan más a la lasagna que las enchiladas, y esos son el pastel azteca y el champandongo ( receta con mole e incluida en el bello "Cómo agua para chocolate) Y por cierto: los nachos y burritos SÍ SON MEXICANOS, es cierto que los gringos los han popularizado, pero si tú vas a los estados norteños: Sinaloa, Sonora, Nuevo León, Coahuila, etc. Verás muchos burritos,.pero MUY DIFERENTES a las cosas horrendas Tex-Mex. El norte también es México.

    🫔 tamales are made in MANY MANY DIFF WAYS AND FLAVORS. I don't like those that much either. You should of tried the sweet tamales. Made out of strawberry 🍓 or pineapple 🍍, or also sweet 🌽, there so good. The consistency of the dough is way different. Also every state in Mexico have many diff tamales that's why is a hit or miss with them. It depends on how they make them and where you buy them.

    The great thing about Mexicos food is that we have taken everything the world has brought to us and made it our own. Never afraid to mix and match wildly different flavors to see what we like, and we have very little care for what the rest of the world frowns upon. If it's good and we like we are going to take it for our own. While doing our best to preserve and grow our tradition and culture somehow.
