this is like a best sfic key....it is tip stopped (or indexed), at the tip, the notch at the tip on the lower side of the key is the proper way to index this key for duplicating. your more common residential and commercial keys have a shoulder stop on top of the key, near the head, this is how you "index" these keys for duplicating. double sided automotive, that don't have a shoulder on them, they are also tip stopped, but this is usually the very end pointy part of that kind of key.

I just bought a used 040. Were you able to get any info on 040. I am trying to learn how to use it. I assume you have a 040?
@@jshivprashad how do you lift the handle back up to actually cut the new key. Mine gets stuck. Seems like a safety feature
