I think I found a human footprint in a rock. The big toe seems to be shorter but pretty sure it's a left foot from mid arch with all 5 toes. Was lying in a valley creek in SE Tn. Didnt see it until I got it home. Just liked the rock....really like it now. Found lots of fossils of sea critters and a chunk of some kind of reptile looking skin, all on bedrock. Pyrite and a semi shiny silvery substance seems to have filled in some of the fossils. The silvery metal looking stuff is in raised narrow lines or bands all over the bedrock of the creek. No idea what it is but it is slightly metallic looking silver mixed in with thousands of small sea animals. It bubbles when in contact with peroxide. Some of it has streaks of quartz and it bubbles in vinegar as well. Still looking into what it could be as time allows. Love watching you n your supervisor Daisy. From one of your replies... Yes! I bet she'd love a 20 gal bucket of cool water to lay in.
I am about to go on another trip and they are still in the back of my truck. And my 3 tumblers are already rolling. I will try a tumble if I can stay organized. hahaha
1:25 This sample can be really good, it's have nice colour. You can tumble it but you can also try to make some slabs - if light can penetrate these slabs effect will be amazing.
Given the location, I'd be surprised if you haven't come across some gold mines. Something I'd personally be interested in is whatever Indian artifact sites surely dot that region... Reminds me of the ancient copper mines they claim exist in Michigan. They're not entirely sure who it was that dug them but I've read theories about how they think it could've been the vikings. Interesting stuff, especially for someone who is into that Oak Island show. Ha. Stay safe man.
I had to dodge rock trucks from an active gold mine on my way into the area. I should have taken some video of the place. There are also some out of the way mines or old mines. Next time. It was so hot on the day that I missed some exploring that will have to wait.
@@meMiner Completely understandable--stay safe. 90+ temps isn't something to scoff at, especially if the humidity is high. Thankfully, here in Indiana, we're beginning to see some fall indicators. 80s all through this week (with lows reaching into the 60s!), with no rain anticipated until next Saturday and low humidity! It's FANTASTIC. (That's always how fall starts in our area. Don't get me wrong, we still have plenty of time yet before fall is actually declared but I'm hoping for an early fall because this summer has made me excited for the burning leaves, cool-and-crisp morning drives in my convertible, being able to wear sweaters again, etc.)
Hiya Greg, I love ROCKS! So what is the blue rocks? So why is Daisy limping? And ya we did see some rocks you should have collected. Lol Awesome video, your cool little camper is great for camping rock collecting. I hope you have a awesome great blessed day.
I should do a video about the camper. It is a bed on wheels and the back opens up to do some cooking. Daisy limps because she fell about 30' trying to get down a cliff to a lake so she could swim. $2K in emergency vet bills and my own vet - both said she will be fine. Now, she is on daily meds because she is not fine. The meds help but don't cure. Still, there is no place she would rather be.
