Thank you for sharing. Bought mine two years ago and then got sick and have not used it. This DIV will be the maiden voyage and I am really looking forward to it. I found this most helpful. I love my TDI so anxious to see how this compares
I had the TDI and like a friend of mine said, why would you drive 10 hrs. and not have the Best Detector for the job, that’s a GPX. My first GPX was a 4500 and my buddy still swings it, I use a 5000 just because I got a good deal on it. See you in a few days! (Ringfinder)
Marc, I use almost the same settings as you and I always keep my GPX on Manual Tune. I also use the same settings on my GPX here in Ohio, when I’m relic hunting. Thanks for the video, it’s a good one. I change my tones a little bit because I have ringing my ears. Relic Bob told me that trick. See you in a few days! (Ringfinder)
Yes!!!!! Excited for this video and as someone who you have helped I appreciate it.. Ive always wondered if you ever progressed through settings and changed as you went.
Used your settings yday- worked great found most a a ground burst 24lb CS polygonal shell- found to keep frags from breaking I had to put iron reject at 6- but i normally hunt at 7 -8. 4500 easily heard the frags at almost 2 ft. Thanks
Good Video Marc. On your gold screamer where do you set the volume at. I sort of keep mine around 3 o'clock but am never sure where to put it. Also, I have ringing in my ears and have found that setting the Audio Tone at 12 helps me immensely with finding Buttons, I can never hear the high tones and this really helps. In the Last DIV, I found 7 buttons using this method and found a Cast I button before the hunts on private ground. I know u didn't mention it, but I use a set of Black Widow headsets, they block out all the around noise and you can really hear those deep targets. I tried the Bluetooth Headsets but I was just missing too many deep targets so I went back to my trusty Black Widow. Thanks Again Marc, great video. (Ringfinder)
Good video Marc! With bumping the volume limit up, how does that affect the gold screamer amp in your opinion? I would assume your cranking that too and adjusting the headphone volume down?
@@marcsciance9148 good deal! There isn’t a “custom” search mode on the 4800. There is Deep General and high mineralization. I wonder if High Min is the same as custom?
Thanks Marc, I run my gain 13 + at times. Wonder if im over powering some sites. If that can happen. You run afew settings different. I'll give them a whorl and hear the diff. 👍 Thanks again

I'm watching and listening. Just got a 4500 this past year and am new to detecting. Can't wait to make some memories on my machine
Thank you for the info. Just got it set and ready to take it out for the first time.
Thank you Marc for getting back to me,, good hunting to you

Now if I could just get a stable threshold this week I'd be fine
Great video, Marc. Thanks for sharing the pointers. Do you know if/how this would translate to the GPX 4800?
Yes they should work with the 4800 for the most part.

Are these the same settings for the 5000?
Nice!
your headphone preference ?
your thoughts on wireless headphones ?
I use Grey Ghost Backwoods. Killer Bees are also good. I do not suggest using the stock Minelab headphones.
What kind of handle are you using?
It is custom made out of hickory. Got tired of the plastic Minelab handles breaking
Yooo buddy! All aboard for me new sub here!
Crap
Hey broo u set up ur machine for wich area ? Wa-NT- VIC ???
These settings work everywhere for all different types of ground mineralization. No need to change a thing whether digging in good or bad ground.
