I feel like there’s so many resources to learn Spanish. But this is good advice. I think having high motivation is key. You have to love the language, the culture, the people and enjoy and trust the process.
@@Maidaseu you just have to remember what motivated you to learn the language in the first place. That’s why implementing Spanish into your life is essential so dropping it would be tough
Look up Horchata. It is a drink made from Almonds, cinnamon, Rice, Vanilla and milk (canned and regular). I have added Mexican cuisine to part of my learning. Drinking it won't help you learn Spanish, but it is fun to learn more about the culture while you study.
@@jamesb5737 that’s awesome the closest I’ve come to Mexican gastronomía is a real Mexican street taco place close to where I live. And also tamales 🫔 I’ve eaten those haha amazing
This is how I learned English and Japanese, now I’m just starting to actually trying to learn Spanish (and also Italian at the same time) wish me luck!
i grew up in a mexican household with 4 siblings that all spoke spanish, i’m the baby of the family and i guess my parents just said fuck it and never taught me spanish lol, in the 8th grade i visited mexico and had the worst time with family mainly because of the language barrier, i made sure when i got back to learn spanish, when learning with my grandmother i get fed up and thought i wasn’t progressing at all and my grandma told me “you have to think in spanish” and that was probably the best advice i ever got while learning spanish since then i now speak fluent spanish and have so much fun visiting family in mexico
for those who are confused on the quote “you have to think in spanish” here’s the best way to explain or atleast the way i took it, when trying to learn spanish and have only spoken english your whole life a lot of the sentences don’t make sense at first because it almost seems as if there sentences are backwards, there’s essentially a different thought process when speaking spanish and when you try to literally translate everything to english it might not register, but when you turn off “english mode” as i call it lol everything seems to make sense
@@giverplus5301 I did the same thing when I was learning! Getting exposure to the language also helps with the thinking process, and it's important that you aren't translating everything literally. So glad you're able to speak to others now!
Oh man, I'm trying to learn some Spanish and that's actually going pretty good. I've been surprised when i saw that Spanish grammar is more similar to my native language, than to English. In Ukrainian we also got feminine and masculine words, and actually doesn't use "I", "you" etc. in every sentence, questions and negative form is actually the same, and using all kind of tenses too. P.S. Spanish it's like Ukrainian with latin vocabulary.
Also depends what kind of Spanish you want to learn. Such as I am 🇨🇴🇪🇨 when I took Spanish in school it was 🇪🇸 based. I was able to pass with a B it wasn’t easy lol
Great video all true. Grammatical rules are important especially in Spanish. You can learn with TV shows, podcast, music, language apps, incorporating Spanish into your everyday life. But most importantly believing in yourself
Cien por ciento el MEJOR video sobre el proceso del aprendizaje del español o, literalmente, cualquier proceso complejo (por ejemplo, mi título en química 😅😅realmente se sentía cómo otro lenguaje extranjero❤😂)
Yes to immersion! We've been doing that in Guatemala and now just got ESL jobs in Spain for a year so we are hoping to improve A TON in the upcoming year :) Spanish i so fun but we definitely have a long way to go before we speak as well as you do!

A mí me pasa lo que explicaste, pero con el inglés y cuando trato de hablarlo ya sea con mi familia, amigos o con quien sea se ríen y me miran raro y el hecho de que se burlen me hace sentir un poco mal :/ pero a mí me encanta :) y seguiré aprendiendolo.
At the end of the day, you are the one who is progressing, while you are going forwards and letting others behind. Even if people laugh at you or mock you, keep your studies up because it will definitely benefit you. It was incredibly hard for me at first, but after a few months studying English, I was able to read short stories, talk to people and have amazing experiences with tons of different people from all backgrounds you could ever imagine. Talk to yourself in English, listen to a lot of podcasts, read news and try to immerse in this beautiful language. Good luck!

Hey Nate your videos help me sound great when speaking Spanish to friends. As a psychology major in this video I noticed the click sound you make between sentences. Usually we do this subconsciously. Sometimes it can be perceived in certain cultures as impatience or discomfort. Personally, I had to catch myself when making this sound and learn how to speak without this sound. A little bit of a tip in case you weren’t aware! Thank you very much for the vid!

What the hell are you saying? Spanish is an official language of Mexico, we have more but it is an official language. And by the way, stop your shit, people from London would say the same about the USA flag but to be honest USA has more influence than England when it comes to almost everything including learning the language. Everybody wants to learn the American accent, just few people want to learn the British accent. Same thing happens with the Spanish language, we are a bigger country with a bigger population. 1 of each 3 native Spanish speakers in the world is mexican, so it's clear why Nate placed the mexican flag instead of the spaniard flag, in their mind, when American people think about Spanish, they think about Mexico or Latin America, a whole subcontinent, not about Spain.
