Present timings are just about perfect dear boy, not too short, not too long. I was spitting feathers over Delap being substituted and his replacevent not coming anywhere near Premiership quality unfortunately. I'm a bit concerned about Johnson being caught the wrong side of his opponent yet again and I was impressed with the strength that Burns showed in the tackle/challenges in his last game. Morsy has looked off the pace recently and I think Cajuste is offering a lot more going forwards. I can't honestly remember Phillips getting a mention after he came on at Fulham. There is no excuse for Morsy making that lazy attempt of a tackle that he did. I agree wholeheartedly with you about Davis being caught out upfield and he too was on his last-legs but was more vulnerable than keeping Delap on the pitch when it came to substitutions being made. I would like to see Szmodics play in that '10' role and link more directly/centrally with Delap. PS > Happy New Year to you and yours. 🎉🥳
Not issues with the result..definitely in the mix. I would use the Ipswich Town game against Bristol Rovers as a pre season game and one to win. Rest half the squad and give others and a couple of youth academy players an opportunity. Would like an FA Cup run. But the Premier League is the priority
Doesn't matter how long the videos are I look forward to your views, reviews and comments. Agree about Morsey. Love the guy but he's too slow for premier league. Mick Mills has been saying this as well. Keep up the good work Rich 👏
Thanks ☮ Rich. Excellent review and your vlogs are never to long, 15 to 25 minutes is a good time span for me thanks. Poppy is very gorgeous, she loves ❤ you, another great performance, and the result was ok, can't keep dropping points at end of games when we have little time to reply
Hi Rich 15/20 mins is about spot on. Thanks for great videos. Davis tackle was crazy ,turned his back a lot. Morsey tackle was just so unnecessary, nowhere near the ball. It’s a shame three points were there for the taking. Onwards and upwards COYB 👍🚜
Great work again bud. Keep them up to 30mins. Maybe do pre review outside the ground, team news, speak to others. Add this in maybe. But up to you. Up the town Barlz
A good assessment of the match and agree with all the key issues. With Godfrey coming in which defender do you see going out probably on loan? I think maybe Harry Clarke. P.S. Poppy is gorgeous
Agree with your Morsy question and we should be expecting Kalvin Phillips to be playing more than just coming off the bench for 20mins. Since he’s unable to play against Man City, perhaps start him for Brighton. I think the January window will improve quality and depth.
As long as you want Rich 30 minutes or same as always 20 25 minutes whatever you want. Id have taken a point Clarke unlucky would have been 3 1. Missing Omari might have sealed all 3 point's but let's get 2nd home win v Brighton after B R'S .Great video Rich
So much happened in that game yesterday Rich. I've taken a bit of flak for saying that I feel it was a mistake to substitute Delap so late on, so I'm pleased you seem to concur. A lot of folks, quite rightly in many ways, say that he's a precious resource we need to preserve. However he didn't look tired to me, he's 21 after all, and this was a time when KM should have rolled the dice because, again with all respect to Al Hamadi, he is simply not a threat and, in taking off Delap in a tight winning position when we were somewhat under the cosh, this made life a lot easier for Fulham to press higher. Apart from all that, the Bristol Rovers game is an opportunity to rest him, so I really think that was an error. Not saying it cost us the game, but it certainly didn't help. With regard to Leif, he really has his work cut out playing that role at this level. It works fine in the Championship, but tracking back at speed in transition, when you have attackers with Premiership pace and physicality, has caused us problems down that wing all season. I think this really needs addressing in line with the tactical fine tuning we are seeing that, by and large, is transforming our chances of staying up, as is becoming widely recognised in the media. It's heresy to suggest that Morsy might not be the best option, however that was a very poor late foot for that first pen and I fear that there are negative habits in his game that sometimes show up in this sort of way. He's a guy that gets stuck in, that's what makes him so special. However I do wonder if we need to revisit the wisdom of keeping Phillips on the bench when it looks as if he could build a fantastic and very robust partnership with Cajuste. I wouldn't be averse to seeing Morsy coming on as a sub for either of them. That might give us some great energy in the final phases of the game and reduce the possibilities of yet more yellow cards. Difficult decision and he is still Captain Fantastic. I don't expect that to change. Broadhead is, for me, a revelation. Due to injury, it was quite easy to almost forget he would be an option at some stage, but I don't think we can afford to be without his vision and creativity. And as I mentioned in comments on your short video last night, we've not conceded a goal from open play since Walton became starting keeper. If you look at the Prem form table over the past six matches, we are in 14th place and that is really a superb achievement, given the quality of teams we've faced. Unsurprisingly, Newcastle top that table and it partly explains why we were like rabbits caught in the headlights against them. Looking at our relegation rivals, Everton are really trending very poorly. They looked good against us at Portman Road, but haven't done much since and we'd set up against them very differently at the moment. I think they may ultimately be the team to usurp. Leicester and Southampton are at the bottom of the form table and I think most commentators acknowledge that they've gone backwards while we've really stepped things up. In terms of video timings, I think 20 minutes or so is about perfect. Always look forward to your videos.
Firstly, the positives: . Defensive masterclass - Greaves man of match . Chance creation and conversion increasing . Nathan Broadhead what a strike (unlucky not to score), just phenomenal . Delap causing Fulham defenders nightmares for 80 minutes + brilliant penalty And then the obvious negatives: . I don't trust Davis as a defender - should be playing as a LW/LM imo . Morsy is an absolute idiot and gave away an absolute needless penalty, should be dropped imo 💙🚜
Didn’t see Greaves as MOTM … Broadhead or DeLap for me. Greaves outmuscled (again) from a cross and Walton made a very good save. He also got trapped by Fulham out on the touchline far too far up the pitch and on the turnover we were very lucky not to concede. O’Shea is our best CB at the moment! 🤷
Let's go Slicker, give him a chance because when we sell Muric in a couple of weeks, he will.be second choice and one shoulder injury away from playing in the Premier League
Terrible penalties given away, we are learning all the time and hopefully Morsy and Davis can learn from these mistakes, both have alot of credit in the bank so shouldnt get too much grief for this, only my opinion, twas gutting to see another 2 pts slip away in injury time but so proud of the team. Great show 💙
Stuck in York because of the snow, watched the game in The Windmill pub with a Sheff Utd and a York fan, good football chat with real world football fans. I'd have taken 2-2 (having predicted it), but very disappointing - two silly pens - yes Wilson is a c***. He needs snapping. The way we are now playing is exactly what we need to do - bar the errors. Backs to the wall and catch them on the break or a set piece. We have to be realistic. We will be pressing and chasing down and defending - it's a no brainer. I notice in the last month or so less of this playing out from the back stuff and more longer ball. Sensible at this level given our relative frailties. Anyone missing Muric? No, me neither. Given we are now without Hutchinson, Ogbene all season probably, Axel and Hirst, we are punching above our weight but we need to cut out basic mistakes. Are we good enough to do so? Maybe not. Delap we need to be careful about - hence why we bring on Al-Hamadi - who is coming in for unnecessary stick in my view. He's not had a run and wasn't bought to play Prem League. Give the guy a break. Quick note about Wolfie: he's doing far better than expected. I'm not his biggest fan, never have been, but he did okay - so fair play. I think we need to look forward to the FA Cup game - give Godfrey a run out. Be nice to see Townsend and Jack Clarke - he needs some confidence, he needs something because other than hitting the post and crossing the ball that Taylor nodded in at Wolves, he's done nothing in half a season for a lot of money - but Clarke, like many, will have been bought with one eye on the Championship next season.
Great video. Covered everything I reckon 👍 Totally agree about Liam playing a full game. Who should play as centre forward against Bristol Rovers do you think?
Vid length is about right. As for the pens...Both unecessary. First one looked like a rush of blood, the second one looked like Leif hadn't got any blood left to rush. His movement back after his overlap for Jack's shot was little more than a meander. When the ball came back off the post the move which led to the pen seemed at first to be away from where Leif would be needed and Fulham spotted that he was out of position. I think his tiredness was as much mental as physical and he was left wanting.
I love ail and I saw your tweet last night he is just not premier league striker. too slow I remember a time in game where wes burns pass him ball and he stopped running.
I think you should make it the same amount of time it takes Town to have their first shot in the relevant game you’re talking about 😂 imagine how long the review would’ve been for the Newcastle game!
20-30 mins rich Delap should stay on till 80-85mins Morsy been great since he's been at town. But age is creeping up on him. Maybe sub morsy instead of others in midfield. Coyb
Hi Rich, around 20 minutes is fine in normal circumstances. If it's a turgid 0-0 draw with shots on target counted on the fingers of one hand then adjust the timing accordingly. Yesterday's game had more positives than negatives; however, the points we dropped were due to sloppy errors on our part rather than Fulham being much better than us. Morsy is a yellow card waiting to happen and at this stage of his career that's unlikely to change.
Good ref, bad ref, incompetent ref, whatever they are on a weekly basis, Wilson simply cannot be allowed to get away with his verbal assault on the ref. Clearly mouthed the word that rhymes with meat and pointed into his face. Absolute disgrace to himself and his club. I sometimes feel the game is literally better off without these petulant top hats
WTF was Morsey doing. Absolutely no need for him to get involved, petulant. Davis needs to defend better looked out on his feet, just dangled a leg the forward said thanks. We threw that win away hope we don't go down by 2 points because that's where we lost them
Incident packed game so 20 minutes is good. Ive always wanted Greaves to start even when Burgess was playing above himself. Real shame for Clarke, im a fan. As for Morsey, i llike him but think he is a bit overrated by Town fans. Cajuste is our best midfielder now
I cannot think of any examples, ever, of Ali Al hamadi showing he is of any quality whatsoever. Not a touch, not a shot, not positioning, not work ethic. Didn't he miss a penalty last year?
@TheSuffolkCrunch I say give him a last shot against the Brizzle. Unless he turns in a stellar performance, sell him ASAP to however we can fob him off to. Maybe Colchester or Maidstone.
