Council cancelled the freeway bypass a few years back. Traffic is hell in this valley. I would avoid for lack of infrastructure.
It’s difficult to get through Vernon on Highway 97 during prime tourist season however as a local you will find alternative routes. I did! :)

However I heared about the severe floods in Vernon and am concerned because I'll be moving there with my family. I want to know whether these floods affect the whole of Vernon or can they be avoided?
Hi there! The floods only really affected the lakeshore properties not in the city. The city isn’t built in the lake. There are some creeks where properties were affected somewhat. There are many higher ground places that weren’t affected at all.

Hi Hugh - I know the job market is a bit difficult. Maybe a lot difficult. What type of things do you like to do? There are many jobs in the tourism sector however they don’t always pay a fortune. What do you like to do?

And inviting us to visit and check if we would like to live there. My work experienced are Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engr and Senior supervisor in a multinational company. Hi there! I suspect there are jobs available although I have no real access to those. Suggest you contact the Vernon Jubilee Hospital to start? That may be the best place - or Interior Health.
Only move to Vernon if you got money, the prices for buying or renting are outrageous. Watch out for the geese too btw.
I think prices have increased substantially all over the country, not just in Vernon. Not sure what problems the geese pose?! :)

Great to hear from you! So sorry for the delay. There are some great areas around. There are actually many areas that have what you are looking for :). I believe jobs are fairly difficult in both Kelowna and Vernon... however things could change by the time you are here in 2022.

There are houses for rent although they have been a bit tough to find these days I’m afraid … hopefully the market will get a bit easier soon.
Is this area multicultural? I’ve heard some stories and noticed there were no people of colour in any of your videos?
