Rejoin Laura and me as we continue our of solve Unlock: Pandemic, in part 2 of our two-part solve. Pandemic is one of three games included in the "Unlock! Game Adventures" box, which is the latest release in the Unlock escape-room-in-a-box series, and first published in late 2022. In this video we complete our solve of the Pandemic scenario so there are spoilers throughout. 😁
If you haven't already watched part 1, I recommend starting there since this will make much more sense - plus we make a lot more progress in part 1 than we do early on in this video! Here's the link:
    • Solved! Unlock: Pandem...
And if you're just joining us, this is our fifth solve in this series where each week we're solving a different escape room box, including not just other Unlock boxes but also Exit the Game, Escape Room The Game and many others - including some great indie escape-room products from Kickstarter and elsewhere too - so please do subscribe to the channel if you would like to join us on this fun adventure.
Do of course please feel free to comment below - we'd love to know what you think of the video, and whether you solved the puzzles faster than we did while watching? Or if you've tried the box yourself, what did you think of it? Do you agree with us where we comment on the puzzles? And if you enjoy this kind of thing, do check out these other playlists of my various escape-room puzzle solves:

So fun! I think the next time you solve a game like this and put out the solution in two videos,(Part 1 and Part 2) I really should wait until you've released both videos and watch them both in the same day. I couldn't remember the details of part 1 by the time I watched part 2. Sucks getting old! 😂

Sorry, that's my fault for taking too long to upload part 2 after part 1! The other option would have been to take out massive chunks from the second video and tack it onto the end of the first video. Perhaps that would have been better overall, but it felt like a LOT! :)

Don't worry Alicia, I couldn't even remember what happened in Part One when we were actually playing it in real time! 😂 All part of the fun!

I did rather well on this one. I do agree that the key is to have all the cards laid out to see because it was a lot. I loved watching you two solve this one. You're both brilliant!

That's so kind of you! Thank you for watching and I think I've learned how not to solve these ones with lots of cards on camera now! :) I hadn't looked at it in advance so didn't realize I'd need so much space for the map. Duh.

"This game has taken so much of my life." 🤣 You all are so fun! I really enjoyed watching you two work through this, even though this game didn't turn out to be quite as successful as the last one. Looking forward to more fun solves!

Thanks so much! I did have a much higher-up camera ready, which in retrospect I should have used so we could have kept all the cards visible all the time. I think that would have helped! :)

That last puzzle feels inspired by EXIT! games, hiding like that.
If you ever do a channel trailer 34:56 would be a perfect start, fuuuuuuun! 😂
Loving the sassy look at 35:24, too 🤣

Yes, you're absolutely right - it's a total outlier! Although it's a fun puzzle and a nice reveal, both in terms of the hidden objects and the secret of the map itself, it does seem odd to have designed the entire board layout to fit that final puzzle which really doesn't belong with the rest of the (already very long) game. What's more, the other puzzles at least have the pretence of fitting the story but this one doesn't have any coherent narrative connection.

@@drgareth It's possible the designers looked at the Pandemic map, saw the shapes that the lines between cities made, and brute forced a puzzle from there, theme be damned?

It is rather interesting that you can do these at least partly out of order, which is quite impressive. Collecting the sample in Hong Kong could have been done at any time after going there.

Yes, we missed that step for a long time, which made everything else harder! Because you can have so many cards at once, it's very easy to forget things you've had around for a long time - especially because cards get re-used more in this game than other Unlocks.

Did I miss something? Did you guys do the Mysterium Unlock in this set? I can't find it. It's one of my favorite Unlocks.

    • @drgareth
      @drgareth  5 месяцев назад +1

No, we haven't done it yet (because neither of us have any familiarity with the board game) - although you're not the first person to ask in the past couple of weeks so it's now on our list to do soon! :) Thanks for the recommendation!

@@drgareth oh, the actual Mysterium board game has practically nothing to do with the Unlock Mysterium. Play it soon! It's one of my absolute favorites, hehe

Haha, yes, sorry. I sometimes find when I watch myself back I've just said a random word in the (very) vague area instead of the exact thing I needed. :) Obviously not the same at all.

Purple being a combination of boue and red isnt logical according to u? Xd.....

No, that's perfectly logical! But I don't think if you mix part of vaccine A and vaccine B you end up with a new vaccine C. :)
