    Shout out to who ever set up that picnic layout..... I want to eat some of it. Man I learned so much about this lens. I just purchase like 10 minutes before I clicked this video.... Peace and love always

    The aperture ring is for Fuji cameras. Because most Fuji cameras need the aperture rings. So they just changed the mount on the lens.

      thanks for the info. only briefly looked into fuji for their video specs. So fuji designs their cameras to have no options for aperture control on the body?

    • @jesters16
      @jesters16 3 года назад +1

      @@DriveByReviews I have the X-S10 so it has aperture control on the body,some do not. Because Fuji is pushing the retro fell for the cameras. But most Fuji lens have aperture control on the lens. I have the Canon M6 still but I picked up the Fujifilm X-S10 for video because of the IBIS and the size. Watching your review of the Viltrox lenses the first thing I thought was Viltrox did not even change the exterior of the lens for the EF-M mount.

      @@jesters16 hah yes they just slapped on different mounts and sold it to users of Sony, Canon, etc. I'll have to look into their lens updates because not having a lens correction profile is a big issue. m6mkii didn't even recognize what it was beyond focal length. There's an editing software update but most people will opt for a lens that their camera can work with from the original shot.

      @@DriveByReviews The funny thing is Tokina makes an almost identical lens for the Fuji mount but it does not have the USB port to update the lens since Tokina certified with Fuji for updates. I am happy someone is making lenses for the EF-M mount I just wish it was earlier. I was hoping for the rumored M7.

    We would love to see how this lens perform at F1.4, in your sharpness test you skipped F1.4 and F2 aperture and straitaway started with F2.8. why? People buy F1.4 lens for that wide aperture usages and interested to know how it perform sharpness test (center and corner performance at wide open)..also interested to see comparision with 22mm f2

    You're back. You should do more videos man.
    If u could help me.
    Do u think viltrox 33mm f1.4 will b as good as sigma 30mm in image quality/sharpness!
    How does the canon 22mm fare in comparison with these 2 (again with regards to image quality/ sharpness).

      I have the viltrox 33mm and 56mm, I'll do the 33mm just for you. I'll throw in some comparison but plan to make a dedicated video to put them side by side, 23 vs 22, 30 vs 33. The sigma 30 has its IQ issues so it'll be interesting to see how it stacks up

    How far does the Sigma 56mm need to be from you in order to get this opening angle in the video? Greetings from Brazil.

      I like my closing shot best with the sigma 30mm about 5 ft away, opening was 16mm same distance, would need 7+ ft for the 56mm

    Hi i have my m50 i got the efm 34mm canon f 1.4 and was thinking of getting the sigma 16 mm 1.4 now for wide shots how is the sigma compared to this? Is the viltrox better even when it cost less?

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  3 года назад +1

      sigma 16mm is hard to beat, if you've seen my review comparison of the 16mm you know all the reasons why. 23mm is a completely different look for FOV. for example, opening shot on this video is 16mm vs closing shot is 30mm, both sigma. Granted my exposure is more flattering on closing shot but you can see the look difference by how much of the background is included

    • @renzcaballero2706
      @renzcaballero2706 3 года назад +1

      @@DriveByReviews true but for taking photos sigma is still better at the end of the day right? I mean you can include more background due to it being 16mm. If it were you for taking photos would you choose the sigma still? Thank you.

    • @DriveByReviews
      @DriveByReviews  3 года назад +1

      @@renzcaballero2706 for wide angle photos the Canon 11-22 is amazing, but not as fast which is why I use the sigma almost exclusively for video. generally I need more width than 16mm if I want a wide shot like real estate. videos are harder to adjust to low light but with photos I can always go for longer exposure.

      @@DriveByReviews i see well my plan was to sell my m50 and get the eos rp but my m50 still works and i have the canon m32 f1.4 for portrait but dont have a wide angle one for taking wide angle shots or when taking group photos. I dont usually vlog but mostly takes pictures.

    This lens should be a no brainer, however that CA and fringing really looks bad.
