Hi, could you also post the settings you used for the meter? I have a volt/ammeter but am not sure how to set it up. Posting a picture of the settings would be helpful. Thanks!
Hi erick do have a video on how to fix the windshield wiper motor. I have a 1949 Chevy fleetline. How do you get them to work. They say there's some vacuum hoses that make them work. I don't really know.
So I'm testing my 6 volt the motoring test worked but when I tested with leads it didn't ramp up but if spin the pulley by hand it jumped to 3 volts what does this mean
as far as the vacuum wiper motor, they didn't work that great when they were new. probably why they are no longer made. an electric motor conversion works good & can be had for less than $200.00. another test for a generator is to ground the field terminal while the engine is running. the voltage should 6.8 volts. disconnect the "f" & "a" leads while doing this test. the purists will hate me for this, buy a 12 volt alternator & switch the car to 12 volts. it's a GREAT improvement.
Thankyou for this wonderful video. It was exactly what I did a lot of searching for. Question. Wouldn't it have been quicker to jump the two terminals on the generator as the first thing to do, then if that was ok, start using jumper wires to the regulator. If the generator wasn't ok, there seems to be no need to run it as a motor, and I don't think you can check the regulator if the generator isn't working. Am I correct? Thanks again.
I have a 1947 GMC that has some electrical issues. This is a very informative video.
Watch this video yesterday, fixed my 1950 Chevrolet 3100 truck this morning, THANKS!
I was hoping this would work on a 57 truck, shouldn’t be much different
Just the video i needed for my 52 coe thanks so much
thank you for great video. I have a charging issue with 1951 chevy Deluxe and this will help pin down the problem....Thanks again
Glad it helped.
very good I have watched this before.. always a good learning experience

Great video! question? Can I use the wells vr715 electric voltage regulator for my stock 63 chevy ii 194 inline 6 generator "alternator" ? thx!

Hi I've got a 38 Chevy pickup. 6 volt. Stopped charging. Can't find a voltage regulator?? Is it on the generator? Built it maybe?
Mine has a little box on it
Kinda off topic but what is the pulley size? 3/8" or 5/8'? Thanks!
Iam having a grinding noise from my generator it comes and goes is that common problem? It's on a 56 235 straight 6.
52 was negative ground right
yes

why not check the brushes and clean the armature with emery cloth.
