I found you via a search for Decoupage. I found so much more. Sat last night and watched all your videos while husband snored. Love everything you have posted, enjoyed listening to what you had to say. I too am an ex antique dealer and identify with how things accumulate and some really need to be used. What is the purpose after all! I live on the lovely Southern Oregon coast, I also am a recluse, working in my studio, really feeling no need to emerge. I will be watching for more videos from your end of the world. Found lots of inspiration! Thanks for posting!
Wow, such a great comment and so much in common! I lived in Idaho for three years starting as an exchange student then returning a couple of years later…love the North West. Hearing from similar minded people and sharing my obsessions makes it all worthwhile…many thanks
I love this thread of comments. I think I am also a kindred spirit, but unfortunately my life does not yet reflect it enough! I live in the busy NYC (Brooklyn, fortunately; but work in Manhattan), and I am yearning to retreat to the country, build an art studio and immerse myself in my artistic and crafty hobbies and live out my fantasy of being able to do this kind of gorgeous, imaginative art for a living-at least part time, while also raising farm animals, and tending to my sustainable garden. Hearing of people living a slower, more peaceful life gives me hope and inspiration. I’m sure to some extent i may be romanticizing it…supposedly “the grass is always greener, yada yada yada,” but I definitely relate to wanting to spend my days NOT in front of a computer, NOT on a subway, NOT navigating crowds. Instead I want to be at my art desk, walking in nature, working in the garden, or out collecting objects-unique antique items and items from nature-and creating, creating, creating! It sounds like such a dreamy existence. ❤
They are are beautiful. But i have some question, because I don't understand everything. Did you use in the big vase mica powder. How will it stick to the insidevase ? And then use gold mica powder. How will that stick to tje inside vase because the layer is dry ? With my respect ❤
At last! A video that doesn’t waste time. Speeds up the repetitive aspects and real time to demonstrate important parts of the process. Loved it. Vases look amazing. Thank you
I have enjoyed that same process with gold, 10 years ago. I still do the process, on the outside, with garden jars and containers. Your work is stunning.
I so enjoy your process and detailed directions. Absolutely lovely creations. Thank you for inspiring so many by sharing your talent! The large bowl vase spoke to me.
Lots of new videos are in the making... will get them out to all of you as soon as possible :). Thankyou for the kind words...Love being able to share all that I do!
I haven’t done decoupage in years and I was quite dedicated lol I bought all my supplies and came to see new techniques and wow I am doing this on a vintage water pitcher I’m going to use for a plant! This is going to be gorgeous! Thank you for the inspiration and tutorial
This is so beautiful and I am inspired to give this a go. Your artistic talent is breathtaking and with all talented people you make it look so easy. I really like your style and personality thank you.
Your work is amazing from inside out! Great tutorial, very well done. I am an 81 year old living in Iowa,USA. As long as my hands remain steady as well as my little grey cells. I need a project for spring. Going thrifting to find the right container and supplies to complete my project. Thank you so very much for sharing all the important information to make something beautiful. Ann from Iowa.❤️❤️❤️
I'm so happy to have googled your name after seeing a reference on Facebook. Your tutorial is incredibly inspiring and I'm going to try my hand at a plate right away. Great delivery, by the way... straight to the point while covering all the details. Bravo!
In this very artificial world we live in, it excites me to find artists. People prefer to waste money buying pieces printed or produced on a large scale by people in vulnerable situations. Congratulations, you are inspiring. A hug from São Paulo in Brazil 🇧🇷
My goodness! Such finesse in every single step of the process. There’s crafters and then there’s artists who craft. You fall in the latter category. Amazing pieces of art. Especially, the large vase with peacocks.
I've seen enough. Love your house. Anyone who lives there must be creative and talented. I have one of those huge glass cylinders I keep toliet paper in. That reverse would be great and hide all the paper. Thanks again.
Oh what a JOY to have discovered you today. I love your method, your quirky design choices, and your delivery. Super happy to hear you have more content to share. Thank you so very much!
Lindo de mais. Apesar de não entender seu idioma ,mesmo assim consegui entender como se faz estes belos jarros. Obrigado por compartilhar. Jesus lhe abençoe.❤
Amazing, thank you. I have been shopping sublimation machines for plates for my art… very skeptical and not happy with the result. THIS could be an answer. Thank you, Joy!
Thank you! I use to do reverse decoupage vases etc but life happens and I stopped to take care of family as well being a full time RN. I am now retired so it is time to get back into making these beauties again. Your video is amazing and I will make changes to how I do reverse decoupage thanks to your wonderful video. Hugs and I cannot wait to see your next videos.
Thank you for sharing. Beautifully stunning. Thank you for adding the gold spray paint option. This makes it so much more accessible and opens this up to some many more artists to try.
Yes absolutely... the options for backgrounds are endless, sometimes just requires a bit of trial and error to make sure they don't bleed into the images. Cheers, Joy
Hello Joy. I am enjoying your channel. I learned to decoupage watching a HGTV program about 30 years ago. Emerge your images in warm water and allow them to "curl" up absorb water and naturally relax. Remove images from water place on a paper towel or cloth to drain excess water before applying to your project. Happy New Year from Nashville Tn. USA ! BTW...your pieces are gorgeous.
Great tutorial, love the reverse effect. I recently used an cheap embossed glass and gold leafed on the inside but I like the ripple from using mica. Thank you so much for play time ideas.
Gorgeous images and vases. My one concern is throwing around mica and breathing it… not sure if it’s good for heath in the long run. Please look into it and be safe. The entry shot of your green yard and studio is beautiful!!
Olá! Estou apaixonada pelo seu trabalho e a forma simples como explica. Tenho longa experiência com trabalhos artesanais e vc passa exatamente o mais importante... sentimentos...doação. Obrigada e Deus te abençoe!

I am the same way. So glad to have found fellow artistic reclusive antique dealers! Pre covid we owned fancy that antiques in Massachusetts.

Finally found a gem in a sea of mediocrity. Your talent is awe inspiring!
Joy you mention that you create a sheet of images to laser print. Are you selecting the images from the web and laser printing yourself?
Absolutely awesome. I cant think of a more rewarding snd therapeutic way to spend time crafting. Thanks for sharing.
This whole process is so extremely well explained, with all the important details but absolutely without any unnecessary jabber. Thank you!
I have enjoyed that same process with gold, 10 years ago. I still do the process, on the outside, with garden jars and containers. Your work is stunning.
Fantastic. I love this idea. I’ve done decoupage for a few years but never reverse decoupage. I think I’ll have a go.
