Just found your channel and I love your designs and tutorials! Do you have one for decoupaging wax battery-operated candles? There are so many techniques on uTube but I’d love to see your version.
Hi Kathy! I have decoupaged the flameless candles but no video 🌼
They are gorgeous! I love this! I wonder if there are pastel color mulberry papers for spring time projects? That would be awesome! Thank you for this beautiful DIY video!
Hi! Yes mulberry paper comes in many colors. I bought the white because I knew I would use that the most. I got a big roll so it’s like a lifetime supply, lol. Thank you for watching! - Joan 🙂
@@JoanMarieDomino where did you get your mulberry paper?
I love this video, I am looking at creating some for a shop I plan to start. While I use a lot of the battery tea lights I was wondering if these could also be used with an actual tea light? I wasn't sure if the products used like the varnish would not be safe for this. I want to make sure my customers have appropriate information. Thanks so much for your videos.
Hi Angela! I recommend the battery operated flameless candles only! And Target has the best little flameless candles, they really flicker like real candles. They’re pretty in centerpieces, on each place setting as a favor, on shelves, in the bathroom, on a tired tray....good luck with your new business venture and let me know how they sell. - Joan 🙂
Very nice
Hi Joann! Thank you! Joan 🙂
@@JoanMarieDomino hi Joan, for some reason I’m not able to save your videos, I don’t ever see the save button. Would you have any idea. Thank you

Hi beautiful project where to find the paper??
We're did you get the mulberry paper from. How beautiful. 😊
Here’s the link amzn.to/3gft6wE this is what I used in all my mulberry paper tutorials- Joan
Absolutely beautiful 💕
Can’t wait to try these. I already bought everything. Can this technique be done on the clear plates and cutting boards?
I know you would have to put the napkin first then the mulberry paper.I think this would be easier than painting.
Thank you💕
Yes! I have a video on doing a plate with mulberry paper! Thank you for the kind words! ruclips.net/video/Jz5IiOvuctE/видео.html - Joan
@@JoanMarieDomino Thank you for getting back to me I’ll check it out. Love watching and listening to you.❤️
Thank you for introducing me to decoupage. I enjoy doing it and your guidance really helps.🌝 There is one question can I use something other than mulberry paper to get approximately the same result.
Hi Rachel! You can crumple up tissue paper, smooth it, tear it in pieces and apply the same way. Not exactly the same but similar. Joan
They are very pretty indeed! Is it safe to use a real flame with the products you have used?
Hi! I say no they are not. I only use flameless with napkin crafts 🙂Joan
I love this Dura Clear Varnish you showed.
If a use a gloss mod podge, which Dura Clear finish would you suggest?
Hi Margie! If you like the glossy finish then use the DuraClear varnish too -Joan 🙂
@@JoanMarieDomino what about the mod podge varnish? It comes in the plastic bottle the same as the others. I don’t have the dura clear.
You can use the Mod Podge as a top coat. If it’s not going outside it should be fine. If it’s the glossy Mod Podge it will be shiny too! 🙂
So beautiful. What weight paper do you use?
Hi Andi! I use the top printed ply of the napkin and this 25 gms. amzn.to/3wizEy8 Joan 🙂
So beautiful. Where do you get the mulberry paper?
Hi Trish! Thank you! This what I used in all my Mulberry Paper videos amzn.to/3wizEy8 Joan
Hello, I don't see the napkin you used for the candle holders. Can you share a link please?
The napkin with the birds is sold out which can happen when I do a video. The holly is still in stock. Vippies Designs has lots of napkins that can be used on tea lights. www.Vippies.com 🙂
Love this tutorial, can you tell me if there is a right side or wrong side for attaching mulberry paper
I think the fuzzy side down but I have done it both ways and saw no difference - Joan
@@JoanMarieDomino thank you
Can u tell me what size of candle holders u used, thank you.
They are tea light holders I got from the Dollar Tree. They’re small, about 2” high.
Can I use the kitchen paper towel that's a bit thicker than the paper napkin if we can't get mulberry paper?
I have never tried paper towels, might wok. Give it a try! 🙂
Where do we get mulberry paper? Beautiful work
Hi! Here’s the link amzn.to/3wizEy8
HI Joan. I want to do some votives for a birthday coming up in March. Do you have any suggestions? I know the area on the votive candleholder isn't very big. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You
Hi Jackie! If there is a theme for a birthday party or something the person likes ( flowers, birds, cats, travel)? I would start there! Good luck and have fun, sounds like a really nice idea! 🙂 🎂 Joan
Is the varnish heat proof? Thank you
Hi! I use flameless candles and remote lights. If you ever have any safety concern about any product including varnishes, please read the label with manufacturers recommendations and warnings. Always safety first! I never use candles in my home. - 🙂 Joan
Joan-Marie, I can’t use this varnish. I have a parrot that can smell this varnish. What other item can I use?
Hi! I have a parrot too. I do it outside however I recommend you use just Mod Podge and do it in another room or outside. Don’t use the varnish - Joan
Hi Joan
Question for you. I've watched your video making the Joy glitter plate. Can you explain why I'm getting some bubbles on the napkin on the back of the plate? I'm not using any glitter on this plate and I did coat the napkin with some Mod Podge. I'm using Folk Art one Step paint to paint the back of the plate. I couldn't find a color in the Chalk Paint that would match. I'm hoping the bubbles go away once I apply a second coat of paint. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jackie
Hi Jackie! Here are some reasons: not giving each step enough time to dry, how and where the Mod Podge was applied, not applying enough Mod Podge and coating the entire surface first which means if you miss a spot a bubble may form, applying a top coat of a Mod Podge too soon. I am not familiar with Folk Art one step so maybe it has something to do with the paint. I hope that helps Joan
What is Malberry Paper???? I've never heard of it before.
This explains mulberry paper and how it’s used ruclips.net/video/UZHcdmsik4E/видео.htmlsi=y_ob1n-bjcQhQdKr
Where do you buy your beautiful napkins?
Vippies Designs and Decoupage www.vippies.com
I am new to decoupage ... would it be safe to use real tea lights in these? Thank you! They are truly beautiful!
Hi! For safety, do not put real tea lights. Put only the battery operated. Personally I never burn candles in my house, only flameless. Thank you for watching! 🙂 Joan
@@JoanMarieDomino Thank you!
Do you have to use flameless candles or can u use real candles for this?
Only use flamesless
Hello!
Those are so pretty.
Just recently subscribed and just love how you show and explain everything 🙂
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! - Joan 🙂
Can we just use Kleenex paper in place of mulberry paper
Hi! You can try Kleenex but I think it would tear once wet, it’s not strong enough. You can always try! Thanks for watching! - Joan 🙂
How long is the drying time for each stage?
I would say with these candle holders about an hour or less..when they don’t feel sticky. - Joan

Beautiful, I checked michaels joannes and hobby lobby, no mulberry paper, do you have a suggestion other than Amazon. I do NOT shop on Amazon
Hi Terry! Do you have an art supply store near you? That’s a good place to check. I do buy from Amazon because I am not a fan of Michael’s or Hobby Lobby because I spend too much money when I shop, lol. The roll I bought from Amazon was about 17.00 and is like a lifetime supply. You can also try Etsy and eBay. EDIT- I checked eBay and they have lots of it there. However some of the same sellers as on Amazon. Hope that helps! - Joan 🙂
Thank you for your thoughtful advise. Great help. I enjoyed making all my workmates decoupaged tile coasters for thanksgiving gifts…maybe I’m hooked?😁
Yes you are hooked! I am the great enabler! 😅😂🤣 Joan
Is Mulberry paper the same as Rice paper?
Hi Mary! No they are different. Rice paper mostly comes printed where mulberry paper does not and has lots of fibers running thru it. 🙂 Joan
Sorry and the name of the gold cream?
Hi! All product information in in the description area, hit the v and you’ll see complete product description and listings. No bother at all 🙂 Joan
What could you use in the rim if you don’t have rub & buff? Please!
Permanent metallic paint marker
Is there a brand you recommend? Hoping to get a package with lots of metallic colors. Thank you! 😊
No I don’t use paint markers, I know Posca is a good brand.
