Hard to say whether Conan or Dave was the better foil for the MacDonald genius. Both of them really got him, that's for sure, and I love the way Conan delights in the whimsy that was Norm. I still think it was the shaggy dog story that Norm excelled in, elaborating and side-tracking until you were almost, almost exasperated, then bam! back to the thread, then meander, meander until the inevitable dumb punchline and the Norm 'what did you expect?' coda. Much missed laughter machine, cheered me up many many times.
I moved to Cali with nothing but a backpack and 14$ to my name after I paid for my airbnb. I didn't discover Norm till the day I moved here, but I watched him everynight on my laptop until I eventually got an apartment, a job, a promotion, another promtion, and my life felt good. Then he passed and I was literally distraut for some time. Still watch clips of him almost every night, RIP
I’ve been on a binge lately of any YT videos available with him. It’s always fun running into something new, thinking I’ve already seen it all. Norm was so brilliant. As a kid I began watching him on SNL with weekend update, and just followed him since. Really really wish I could’ve seen him perform live. Forever will be one of the greatest.
It’s Sunday, I need a smile, so I turn to ol Norm. Ever need to turn to someone, you know? That’s my pick me up. Guaranteed a laugh, forget the horrors of the world, my life especially.
I started having fun at the liquor store with this random LADY..she said after I was finished riffing ‘you must be on the comedy circuit’ (she called it a ‘circuit’..not me). I told her my all time favorites were Norm, Richard, Eddie, CK, and John Candy. She said ‘I can hear the Norm in you’. I thought that was the best compliment I’ve ever received. Or the worst..is she saying I’m in to corpses?!
11:25 considering Kitchener used to be called Berlin until halfway through World War 1 and was majority German immigrants, the railroad cops being harsher than other ones makes perfect sense.
@@izakdonnelly567 oh wow I didn't even know about that show, I've been checking out pieces of it because like the whole concept of what it is a so ahead of its time, I can't believe I've never heard of it
He was the only genuinely funny guy in late night! He’s written jokes for every funny show in the last 20 years, in fact chances are high that he killed you and you didn’t even know it! You have bad taste.
No one told a story like Norm. “My uncle Hector from my cousins side of the family”

I miss Norm more than some family.
jesus
@@cr1ngewarning678 I miss him, too
Norm is family.
".... Anyway, that's my Christmas story..."
😂😂😂
I just hope i never run into this Kitchner Leslie.
I'd be more worried about his girlfriend. She sounds like a real animal.
Sounds like a real jerk!
I don't want run into Kitchner's girlfriend, either.
Funniest joke ever. I thought I’d heard all of Norm’s material. I can sleep easier tonight. What a wild man!

Best comic ever

I love you Norm!
What a great professor of logic!
Didn't he graduate from the University of Science?
He graduated with his Masters of Arts in Russian Literature at the age of eighteen
Wow! Gary Shandling footage! What a shock to see his face.

The goaltender joke..he got me.
Kitchner Leslie had a hard life. Going from being a railroad cop to losing his gf and becoming a dirty bum.
Norm makes life laugh
Really miss this guy

Idk who that first interviewer was and Im not surprised, buddy had all the charisma of burnt toast
Larry sanders show. Garry shandling played a late night host. Great show on HBO
R.I.P. I miss Norm so much and I never knew him
National Treasure
straight up
Choice Norm cuts.
Deliciously hilarious 😋
Fantastic to hear this early version of the Andy Richter Swedish German joke.
It reminds me of that tragedy
Most of my life, I was homeless, but it was only recently I became a bum
"the crack" 🤣
I don’t know if there’s ever gonna be another Norm MacDonald 🥹
10:27 is perfect Norm
I'd like to walk a homeless dog with Norm.
There is genius and there is genius just saying
He was a good man.
Love seeing Jim Downey as a homeless bum in Dirty Work!
I married Kitchener Leslies daughter....
Pictures?
she's camera shy.
At least you didn’t marry Kitchener Leslie’s girlfriend!!
@@weaselfarmer000 Should set up a sty camera.

From The Larry Sanders Show. Not a real interview

Miss them both damn.
The best part is when Conan didn't get the punchline at first 🥇
What does it mean when you own 3 dog houses? Does that make me super straight?
Why can’t we call them bums anymore? Asking for a friend.
What? We can’t?
Why the hell does footage from the 90s look 300 years old now
Hope that ole chunk of coal is sitting somewhere cracking jokes with Garry Shandling.
Wasn’t he great?
The great depression????? What's so great about depression??
Is there a worse actor than Artie Lange? Guy should have just stuck to studying knife skills.
Conan shouldn't try to be part of Norm's bit. Just let him do it alone.
You're not norm
This editing is awful
easy for the 1% to call homeless bums, maybe they are too proud to ask for help
Seriously? He's a comedian. It's funny. And he wasn't part of 'the 1%'.
Your post is so draining. Smh.

@lycantrope3444 Yeah about 5 yrs for me on and off, I've never been the same. But Norm is my favourite comedian.. No accounting for taste I suppose
Why so much for the extra gravy?
Conan is just terrible. I never understood how people could watch his show.
