You never explained the use of the ball joint splitter.

WOW your right sorry. You can use it under the pulley at the top of the input shaft to apply pressure if the pulley is to rotten to use 2x4 method but you take a big risk of snapping the input shaft.

I still like PB Blaster.
Spray it liberally once today and by tomorrow it usually freed everything up.
I had the rear wheels stuck on my shaft and nothing would get them off.
Sprayed Pb blaster on the inside and outside of shaft with the bolt removed.
Next day the wheels came off by hand like butter…..couldn’t believe it but Owning a Jeep XJ made me a true believer in PB blaster getting bolts freed up.
Air hammer works like a dream
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
Purchased this to replace a guide pulley ruclips.net/user/postUgkxO9seYZjlnuP5UvMkb7osQW3WxPVeSnPk on our John Deere x304 snowblower. As I stated in the title, it is just about perfect. The stock pulley has a spacer at the bottom. I used four washers to emulate said spacer, and it works perfectly now. Great product, and great price especially if compared to typical JD prices.
Great work... my only suggestion would be a bigger Hamer aka mini sledge hammer
Thank-you for your idea,...i,ll give it a try Sir !!
They rust really bad and need to be heavy paint on them but not the curve
Thank You for information and advice
Never seen it done like this but ok
I hate to tell you but that was is going nowhere and doing nothing. The heat is doing the work here.
6:09 wouldn't happen if you used a proper hammer, a 2lb sledge would get you where you need to be much quicker and safer.
You could use a real hammer to begin with
Here's a tip I came up with. If your engine is blown or not going to be used again then get a hack saw blade and saw the shaft off, then put pulley in a hydraulic press or just tap it on out with a hammer.
Crankshafts arent made out of mild steel. You arent cutting thru one with a hacksaw unless you have a diamond encrusted carbide blade and endless determination. They are extremely hard metal made with specific heat treat processes
I tried that. Still can't get it off
Great method. Got mine off
Worked,👍🏻
Air hammer works for me every time
This is also a good way to ruin a socket extension!😁
Ready to throw in the towel
Did you ever get it off?
