    Wow, i have never seen this done. How about using dental floss? When I did skin sewing in Alaska I was taught to use dental floss. Wonder if it would work here. I would have liked to have seen the finished product. What did you do to hide the buldge where canvas was doubled up? Possibly added some “mayonnaises medium” and just thicken the area, then sand? Oh, I’ve also used an iron to get out creases in painted canvases that bent: On the wrong side, test for temperature. Interesting. Thanks. Grandma Ma-roux-sha.

    Once you have sewn up then two canvas pieces, use a canvas repair patch along the entire seam..glue with animal skin glue or other adhesive then paint over the patch on the backside with acrylic gesso.. use several coats. Do not paint a modernist painting over this line or you will be severely reprimanded.
