    Nolan respects his craft and he doesn't take audience for granted. That is the reason why he is so successful.

    There are handful of filmmakers who has this kind of leverage over studios 3-4 maybe at most. Nolan is one of them

      exactly...financially and critically ....his worst movie is many directors best work...he makes the movie that are being talked about for the whole years...from release to award season....that much better for studios than just making money at the box office

    They take a cut of the earnings now. They get a union wage for the job they’re hired for, but the BIG MONEY is in royalties, and earnings. And many actors and directors are joining together and Producing their own works.

    • @VariTimo
      @VariTimo 5 месяцев назад

      Fairly little. Like they said, his salary is put against first dollar growth. In the grand scheme of things he made very little up front to minimize the budget and make the most of it. They set the budget at $100M to have complete control. That meant he ended up having to make the movie in less time than he originally planned for. Also actors and crew slept in Holliday In Expresses not fancy 5 star places.
