    Getting stuck on a steep staircase with your bike is possibly not the best thing to happen when you are there and trying to get out of this situation, but it definitely makes a good story after :) it did make me smile, I recognize this :D

      He he! Yes we followed the signage we saw, but there's is definitely a better route available! Thanks!

      Cheers Roy! Gigha was everything we hoped it would be, a bit of paradise at the twin coves. Though definitely worth going out of season as they have just built a motorhome parking area right at that beauty spot!

      I remember your pics from that trip Roy. If I remember correctly, you managed to see the gardens of Gigha in the south which we missed.

      Hi Ceri …. I think the rhythm of pedal, eat, sleep, repeat has such a wonderful simplicity to it that it strips away stress and is so much easier to be lade back. It truly was a stunning route to ride through. I think we’ll be back there again sometime!

      Thanks Ceri! It's just us riding bikes and doing what we love! K

    Excellent camera work capturing the experience and scenery. Brought back memories... we planned to ride Tarbert to Claonaig, but were diverted due to an accident onto the Kintyre Way... on skinny tyre road bikes 😊 ... two punctures and a broke chain resulted in a missed last ferry at Brodick and an unscheduled stay at Lochranza youth hostel. Great fun though 🚴‍♂️😊

      Thanks Clive, sadly my long lived Sony RX100 MkI compact camera died on this trip! Awaiting the next model to come out, I think they are at mk VIII now!

      The west coast and the islands are just stunning aren’t they?! I think Keith had a hard time video editing for this trip as the amazing views just made us want to capture so much of the wonderful views we were drinking in that he could have made a feature length film out of it!

      Hi Pete - it is a fantastic route, so I’d highly recommend it! I hope the weather is as kind to you for your trip as it was to us on this ☝️ Our first attempt at this route a few years ago, we got pelting rain all day, every day. Still stunning, which is why we had to go back!

    Really keen to see your route from Skipness over to the West (so I can avoid it)! There's a good timber road over from Carradale but that does mean some tarmac from Skipness. The route out of Tarbert is better from further along out of the village at Corranbuie. Hope is that this will be further improved with the adoption of some of the new plylon tower roads being constructed now. The Tarbert Castle trust and Friends of the Kintyre Way are worried about erosion from too many bikes accessing the route through Tarbert Castle.

      We saw later on there is another way up avoiding those steps! And also a better entrance to the castle with a swing gate suitable for bikes, but a little engagement and direction can go a long way to helping with those problems! I'll look up the Carradale option over the hill as that long grass track is pretty much unviable unless you're prepared for a long push

    Enjoyed this. What mudguards do you use please?

    • @TerraVenture
      @TerraVenture  2 года назад

      Hi there, we use Mudhuggers, front and rear. The rear one is simply brilliant, clean jackets and saddlebags no matter the weather or mud. On the front they do a “Shorty” and an “FRX”. For 29” we use the FRX and the extender to get the best protection
