Agreed. These interviews are unlike anything else in the fishing podcasts world. Kinda like your scientific study type videos. Also, your different types of aquatic vegetation video. It's still one of my favorites.
I was a Co-angler in Ed’s boat ten years ago at the Lake Toho BASS Opens tournament. I had an excellent day and Ed was a great pro. Ed’s Basscat Eyra was the fastest bass boat I had ever ridden in. I saw 78.3 on the GPS fully loaded. Thanks for the great fishing memories.
One of the best videos I have seen. Alot of new anglers should watch this to avoid falling into a big problem. Many of them don't realize how many problems you can have if you jump into something without having things checked out. The obtaining of information is done by alot of these guys when they are not supposed to and it has been going on for years.
I just want say how much I appreciate Ed coming on and talking about a lot of the stuff that people never hear about in this industry until it's too late. And a big thank you to you two as well for putting in the extra effort to bring us such a great show. It definitely doesn't go unnoticed. Best of luck at the Classic.
We appreciate this. The whole goal with this The Bilge is to peel a curtain back that hasn’t really been peeled back in fishing, and help educate the public on the realities of the sport.
I have never watched Ed or listened to him. But I like him now. I think this is in the top 2 of all your pod cast. It was very informative and never lost my attention!
Great guest ! Thx Ed for all the eye opening information. Good luck fishing this year! Thx Trait and Chris Thx for the great guests, you’re helping a lot of people. Good luck this year fishing! Keep the faith! 👍🥸🙏
Best one yet, informative and down and dirty without sugar coating it. One thing I've always said is "Fishing tourney guys and spouses need to be more open and honest about ALL aspects of the sport". Love how Trait just says how it is and how it needs to be said. Good job
I watch a lot of RUclips / Podcast videos and that by far was one of the most informative podcast that I’ve ever seen. Great interview!! Love the podcast and wish y’all the best in the future . Blake Bourque from Louisiana.
Ed life advice is spot on! Thank you for making sure that last 3 minutes was included! That alone was worth the 2 hours! (The rest of it was gold as well!)
Great show! Ed is a stout fisherman and absolutely solid human. He’s a River Rat from my home River-the Potomac. What a stick. Love the straight talk on topics that needed to be aired. Great job Chris and Trait.
This was an AWESOME podcast! Ed really laid it out there, with the behind the scenes! Es touched on something and I think it needs to be brought back and that the Retirement program, that B.A.S.S. had in place. I remember that and when it came out. It was a big deal! Keep up the great work, Chris and Trait!
I live in Louisiana and we have some terrible navigation laws. We do have some representatives that are trying to get them changed. It was brought up a couple years ago and was defeated in Baton Rouge. As y’all said it’s hard to fight the big oil companies and large private land owners. Love the show!
I left an 85k salary job went back to the lake doin gelcoat and fiberglass for a year built clients up for detailing while also rigging friends boats. Also started chasing for Scott in 21’ and started learning film from macoy and my cousin is the Video producer for the Army Band stationed in DC and started filming and chasing this year for anglers in opens and MLF. Just so I could write my own schedule to be able to learn from the pros. While I type this I’m listening while detailing 3 boats at J-Will’s shop in Aiken. I did Welchers end of year gelcoat repairs. I’m hustling just too be able to learn and be able to one day take my shot but have the financial ability by building up 3 businesses that will run themselves while I’m at tournaments. And…. My wife’s a teacher with salary income health 401k thee works. So it sounds like I’m on the right track according to Ed lol. 💪🏻 this episode was awesome and so informative. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great episode. Just went through a claim with progressive for a lower unit. It was a relatively easy process and their communication along the way was solid. Keep up the great work guys!
VERY VERY interesting about the long term marketing / sponsorship deal with Toyota. I would really like to meet Ed and thank him for taking the time to do this. What a HUGE assett (and a great guy) for the sport. Cheers.
If you really wanted to get a lot of views, you could have titled this one "Heroin, Coffee, and Timeshares." 😆 That was a great show, guys. I much prefer these long form conversations over the short snip it's of information we get bombarded with every day. Thanks for the show!
great podcast, learned a ton of stuff I would never even have thought about. Ed is a good guy to have in your guy's corner. Cheers and crush them at the classic
I appreciate the effort you put into filming these, but any plans to upload to podcast format? Much easier to carve out time to listen while at work / working out / fishing vs sitting down and watching hours. Thanks.
Well you're not to far from me in southern SC. The pine trees here are dumping pollen everywhere, you can see yellow clouds come off trees in a strong breeze. Everyone's allergies are messed up right now! When can I get a supply of line through BM-daingerous swimbaits bro!?? Looking forward to those!
I bought my first tundra only because they were involved in bass fishing! Exactly as you guys talked, bought it for that reason but the product makes me want more Toyotas.
Yea that’s about the craziest thing ever saying . I TRUST YOU EVEN WITH HIM BEING A LAWYER!!! That’s crazy brother and congratulation again on the way you went about the video with the boy and the glide bait and rod and reel combo you going places brother love y’all
And him saying don’t look at social media during tournaments make the camera man more valuable and just have him post. Which is what I did for Buck Malory at the opens because I had his phone because he didn’t need it on the water so I would update bass track while filming and then I did the morning update post before blast off.
Speaking about the kill switch deal...there was a guy i know fishing the big bass tour on lake norman. He had checks in several hours and got called out for a pollygraph. He got asked if he had his life vest on at all times while the engine was running. Well he had it on while he was running down the lake but not the whole time the engine was running (by accident) and got disqualified
How do you think the Tucker smith deal will affect his future with sponsorship? My kids fished against him in high-school and there was always rumors of this exact thing happening at big tournaments, but I blew them off as sore losers. Now however it is allmaking more sense.
What about having 1 hr after the day finishes to rig up next day tackle at a designated area. Then you can't touch equipment until next day on water. Could do it like golf select 8 or 9 clubs/ rods and that's what you have rigged up 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I know the Ding team on BPT have shared information between themselves and caught several times and just pay the fines. This isn't hearsay as I know for facts
Why does Trait have such a hard on for MLF and Chris a little? I really like their podcast and they have really great guests on, but they always seem to throw a jab at MLF. I’ll be the first to tell you BASS is the most coveted trail to be on, but as a huge fan of the sport, I see that the split paved the way for more anglers to have a chance to fish professionally! Let’s drop all the negativity, whether for BASS or MLF! I watch both when I can! Chris and Trait, I really enjoy watching the shows!
Because behind the scenes they were extremely vindictive when I turned the invite down. If you knew what we went through it would make much more sense.
@@Zaldaingerous, I can understand you turning them down, heck you are on the Elite series, I just can’t see tearing into them if you didn’t go over to fish there. True, I don’t know what the anglers were going through when the split happened and I and most other listeners won’t know. I just feel there is a LOT of butt hurt on both sides, just wish there was a way for both organizations to get along. I would love to see an end of the season showdown between all 3 prominent trails, but I have my doubts that would ever happen! I’ll continue to watch the show and both tournament trails. Best wishes to you on the rest of the season, go catch them!
poly test don't work we all have go pro why test someone says he I seen this from him go get their go pro watch video on info that's hard we all been at a ramp and guy hollers out hey hey they bitting in this creek on this bait so on
All of the shows still have to be saved in audio only format then put up on our website’s feed. It sounds easy, but we are a very lean operation right now. Hopefully, we can get around to it soon.
"PRO" Fishing is far from glitz and glamor and as a co-angler I can see it's not something i would want to pursue..It's a pyrimid scheme for the top 20 percent of the field.... Plus Chase don't seem to concerned for the angler
"If your seventeen year old son asked you I want to give bass fishing a try what would you say?" "Absolutely not" he says.Trait responds "That's what everyone says." Great guest. I'm not that far into this episode but what stands out is how pro bass fishing is basically private organizations trying to make money off of passionate competitive fisherman. I think you could say the same for MMA, surfing, soccer, the olympics. What a shitty way to run these things. And it certainly keeps me from watching their content. Thanks for creating and sharing this and stay real.
You can’t receive info that would help you in the tournament. So a wife saying you are going to be late to check in or encouraging them to fish better (bc the wife can see basstrakk or live) would be illegal. Best policy is zero contact
A lot of kids are eaking their way thru life behind their “pro bass tournament fishing dad”. If u don’t already have financial stability in your life u should not be dragging a family into this circus profession imo.
Talking about the Joey thing there is no way to stop it. In truth a guy could ride around and see what every guy is doing then next day do what the leader is doing. BASS does a pretty great job of giving guys a chance to make a living doing a hobby for a living. Really think there is way to much whining or complaining. It is a hobby that thanks to bass and MLF have given people a chance to live a dream.
These guys get to fish for a living and cry about not being paid more. Unbelievable. I’d hate to see them work a 9-5 and have no sponsors and just fish when you don’t have work, family obligations, etc. these people are starting to sound like NFL players.
Don't listen to those negative comments Trait!...Also this was awesome...really appreciate you guys going deep with all your guests! Keep em coming!
Agreed. These interviews are unlike anything else in the fishing podcasts world. Kinda like your scientific study type videos. Also, your different types of aquatic vegetation video. It's still one of my favorites.
I really appreciate your comment. Thank you 🙏 - tz
This x1000. Y’all are crushing it. Bringing original content and asking the tough questions others won’t. Excited for the episodes to come.
Just started following this pod cast, very informative, highly professionally, without all the BS. Job well done. Keep it going.
I believe this is my favorite Bilge yet, simply due to the information that was given on REAL topics that is never truly spoken of. Great work guys!

This was such an informative interview with Ed. He is such an intelligent person and so knowledgeable! He should be an agent whenever he retires..
He’s definitely a good asset on the angler side!
Great episode. Just went through a claim with progressive for a lower unit. It was a relatively easy process and their communication along the way was solid. Keep up the great work guys!
Great episode! Love the the tough story deep dives. Very informative behind the curtain info. Really good for the industry IMO.
Very Insightful and unique content, great topics! Even more impressive there's a Part II needed after going 2 Hrs!
A whole lot of bilge getting pumped out there🎣🎣great pod!
💦💦💦
This was an awesome Bilge!!! This si a must watch for Anglers wishing to go Pro!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have a 08 tundra with 300k miles on it and is 100% running all the factory installed parts and it's still running strong.. Toyota Tundra is for life
Best pod cast Ive ever wstched.
You guys are such great interviewer's and have great guests! Really enjoy every one of these!
The goal is just to have a lot of the same conversations and discussions that happen behind closed doors, but on camera.
My tundra is about to hit 400k 2007 only had to replace regular wear and tear parts. I don’t want to let her go.
That was good. Interesting guy and so well spoken. Set looks perfect.
VERY VERY interesting about the long term marketing / sponsorship deal with Toyota.

Great podcast, I have so much more respect for him, what a great guy!!!!
Thoroughly Enjoyed This One
Honestly my favorite one yet
That was crazy good, learned a bunch of new shit i would of never known if it was not for yalls
This as an excellent podcast! I really enjoyed all the info he has. Great job guys!!!
I love these podcast and your fishing videos. Keep it rolling hope your luck turns around in BASS season. Stay safe on your travels.
Thanks Matt 🙏
Loved it! Very insightful one, keep up this awesome work you guys keep producing!
great podcast, learned a ton of stuff I would never even have thought about. Ed is a good guy to have in your guy's corner. Cheers and crush them at the classic
Really enjoyed this conversation, good stuff.
Love these podcast. keeping it real
Lee Livesay and the boat deal this year had to be asked about to Ed
Wow! The mind of Ed! Great episode, very informative.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really thought this one was going to be a dud, I’ve gotta say though my favorite one yet! The information shared is invaluable
Very insightful. Great job all!,👍👍👍
Awesome interview and insight from Ed!
Ed is always my sleeper pick for fantasy fishing at any of the toughest fisheries!!!
I appreciate the effort you put into filming these, but any plans to upload to podcast format? Much easier to carve out time to listen while at work / working out / fishing vs sitting down and watching hours. Thanks.
Ooooooowwweeeeeee another banger from the Zaldains!!!🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for the support 👊🏽

Best podcast in the game fuck yea!!!
Thanks bro 👊🏽

One of my buddies would’ve won a big bass tournment 50k polygraphed em didn’t have his kill switch otw back said no I didnt have it on 50k lost
Wow
This is increadibly interesting...this is the reality that people need to understand
Thanks for watching Byron
What happen to every spot get a check?
Ed is a hammer.
He’s no joke on or off the water 🔨
Toyota Bucks is the truth! That's why Nitro and Phoenix boats have such a following!
Sweeet! These podcasts are 👌
Appreciate you watching them 👊🏽
How cool would a set of tournaments be with various rules. Ex: 1. frog only 2. no electornics 3. spinning gear only etc.
Lol I kind of like the way it is…. That would be fun for maybe some non-points just for fun content but idk about for a tour event
@@Zaldaingerous Charity events or somehting maybe.
Let’s goooo!!!!
How do you think the Tucker smith deal will affect his future with sponsorship? My kids fished against him in high-school and there was always rumors of this exact thing happening at big tournaments, but I blew them off as sore losers. Now however it is allmaking more sense.
He dose speak the truth .. if you pay for you fishing by fishing better have a back up plan
What about having 1 hr after the day finishes to rig up next day tackle at a designated area. Then you can't touch equipment until next day on water. Could do it like golf select 8 or 9 clubs/ rods and that's what you have rigged up 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I wouldn’t be riding with this guy😂. I’m not leaving my coffee
You guys need to have Scott Martin on the pod
Virginia boy Ed!!!!
Let's freaking goooo
👊🏽
I know the Ding team on BPT have shared information between themselves and caught several times and just pay the fines. This isn't hearsay as I know for facts
The goods!!
👊🏽
If 3 fisherman share a house and talk about where they fished,is that acceptable?
Moral of the story… consulting a lawyer before entering a contract is always better than afterwards. Lol
And to think Ed was thinking of becoming a mobile marine mechanic instead of going to law school.. 😂😂
Well tell the lawyers to get rid of forward facing sonar
#Toyota is an amazing product! Old Tundra was " bullet proof" new one is same but good fuel mileage now"!
That’s me,Black or White 🎤

I think bass should consider RUclips instead of tv rights..the future is streaming..every pro has a RUclips channel seems like an sure thing
A TOURNAMENT ORGANIZATION SHOULD BE RUN AS A NON PROFIT. ALL MONEY WOULD GO DIRECTLY BACK INTO THE COMPANY AND TO THE ANGLERS.
BASS needs to eat their weigh in money for the elites and classic and catch, weigh, immediately release!
Absolutely not
poly test
don't work
we all have go pro why test
someone says he I seen this from him
go get their go pro watch video
on info
that's hard
