- Huw from the channel "Wooden-It-Be-Nice" has started a challenge to make a clock in January 2021. Challenge accepted!💪
I made a dust free clock for my workshop from recycled oak wood from an old piece of furniture. My design can still be improved on a few points, but I am very satisfied with the result. I hope you like my clock design too.
Thank you Huw for this challenge! I enjoyed participating.🤗

Great job
Thank you.
Great idea and execution!
Thanks🤗
Great piece of work thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you Steve for taking time to watch this video.👍
Great work on the clock!!!! I love it!
Thank you 🙏🤗
When I saw it hanging in your shop I smiled so big, you have got to be proud it. Side note, now I have to make one for my shop, thanks a lot. So glad to have found your channel! Make one man. P.S. recycle oak is my favorite because it is already processed for the most part.
Thanks 🤗. Recycling wood has many advantages and it is also free. It is also one of my favorites. Thanks for watching and welcome to my channel.
Frank.
Very nice
Thank you.
Know what I liked best about this project ? I had no idea where it was going other than to a clock. And then ... So great a design Frank ! Impressive sir ! From the cake tin(?) lid to the dust plug on the back ... Oh yes it is !!! Thank you into your creative world🙏 Stay safe. -Mike😷💉
😊Thanks Mike. I am amazed at all the enthusiastic responses I get. The turning is nothing special, but the result is what it takes. Thank you again for the time you spent watching my video🙏.
@@TheTinyWorkshop Enthusiasm is a good thing and makes it worth it. It is hard to criticize and be picky when you know they're doing their best. Didn't we talk about this before a bit ? And besides, words I learned so long ago ... Bambi's mother said If You Can't Say Something Nice, Don't Say Anything at All. 😌
@@TheTinyWorkshop Adding a post script to my last comment: And I have been know to criticize. A bit. Perhaps. I use those two words when I offer a crit. Like 'Perhaps you should wear a face mask" or "The soundtrack is a bit overdone".
That's why I appreciate you so much Mike🤗, you point out my own statements😊. I like to learn and hear from other woodturners if I am doing something wrong or can do something better. What is the purpose of my life if it has nothing to do with learning? Tell me what you really think about what I made and if I use my tools incorrectly, let me know! Or if you have a good suggestion to do something different, I'd love to hear from you. But I also like to hear the enthusiastic responses I have now received on my clock video. That means others like what I've made. I like that a lot!
So Mike, thank you very much for the compliments you have given me🙏. Thank you for pointing out the wise lesson Bambi received from his mother. Bambi also had to learn things in his life. Just like me 😁 🦌
🤝 Take care my friend.
@@mpart_woodlathe-stuff I'm sure it was Thumper's mother that said it ,,. my grand kids tell me that ,a specially in a traffic situation ,,. Regards Alf
Love the design of your clock, Frank. Well thought out a brilliantly assembled. Thanks for sharing it!! 👍👍👍😃😃😃🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Happy turning, .....Gord
Thank you Gord.
Thanks for watching my video! 🤗
awesome entry! Very well done!
Thanks Mike. I'm Glad you like it 🤗
Hi Frank... what a great idea.... another great addition to Huw's clock challenge... I particularly like the way you mounted the clock...and the clock face is such a simple idea that you can customize with your own name or logo... fantastic... great video... take care...All the best.....Andy
I also like the way it is mounted the most. I am happy that I was able to contribute to Huw's challenge. I love to see how everyone is doing. Thanks for watching Andy.
Brilliant idea for the challenge. Just needs a sensor so the clock face can track the motion of the neasrest person in the workshop!
That would be a nice option, Ray. Although it is also nice to forget the time when you are in your workshop.
Thanks for watching.
Great work Frank! and Great Clock Love the case. Thanks for sharing.
Keep on turning.
Cheers, DAVE
Thanks Dave.🤗
what a great Idea!!!
Thanks Luie. I learned from your exploding ring that I had to tape my ring to prevent that. lesson learned😅
@@TheTinyWorkshop awesome learn from my mistakes
1/2 time of video I have had a deja vu. 3/4 time of video I didn't know what are You exactly doing. 1/4 time of video I was in shock and sticked to the screen. Excellent work and great idea, Frank. Love it 👌
Thank you Rav🙏. It is not a high-quality turning job, but it has become a nice entry for Huw's challenge. With the editing I chose to keep it unclear for as long as possible, so that the result is only visible at the end. With the risk that the viewer will drop out😳.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate that.
At first I had really no idea what you were up to with all those parts. It came all together in the end though.
Great job Frank!
Thanks Leo. But I am really curious about your da vinci😄
Wonderfully done!
Thanks 🤗
Very nice Frank! Great work and a great design. I love the dust free idea. I know I sure could use one here.
Take care,
Gary
Time will tell whether this clock is really dust free. But for now it is a nice addition to my workshop. Thanks Gary and all the best.
Great idea, Frank! I agree with Rav. At first I thought I know what he's thinking, then nope. No idea. Then, oh wait! Nope still no idea. lol Then it turned out great in the end, I like that design! 👍
Thanks Mike. Glad you liked it. Nice that it took a while before you see how it was going to be. Thanks for watching🤗
Hi Frank, Challenge completed and may I say beautifully. I'm the same as Mike and Rav thinking Ok now I know and then Ok Now I have no idea for most of the way through the video. Frank that is a fantastic clock and thanks for accepting the challenge. Take care and stay safe. Cheers, Huw
I would like to thank you very much for persuading me to participate in your challenge. I really enjoyed doing it and I enjoy all the nice reactions to my entry. It is great to see that so many people are participating in your challenge and that there are so many original entries. What a great community this is.
I wish you all the best Huw.
🤗Frank.
@@TheTinyWorkshop Hi Frank, I'm so glad you enjoyed this challenge. I'm very pleased you did. You are right in that the entries vary so much from person to person. Thanks again Frank. Take care. Cheers, Huw
SCHITTEREND.
Relly nice work Frank, looks terrific. Stay safe, John
Thank you John. Glad you like this one.
Very nice 👍
Thanks Brian.
Awesome work 👍👍👍
Thank Rob. Glad you like this clock.
🤗
Awesome clock Frank, really like the sealed unit. But that logo as a background is a great idea. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Keep on turning.
Cheers, Bluey 👍
The clock face took the least time to make. But it does make the clock very personal. Simple but very nice. Thank you for your comment Bluey.
This was awesome and well thought out in so many ways!! I love the dust free design! It’s such a perfect clock for the WoodShop!
Well done!
- Seth
Thank you Seth. 🤔well thought?? 😊Most of my work is on the fly. You missed the mistakes I made? Luckily because I see them, but that's my learning curve. Thanks for watching and your comment.
Frank.
@@TheTinyWorkshop LOL, well you could’ve fooled me that it wasn’t thought out!
Great stuff man!
Thanks 😊
Great idea and clock for the challenge Frank. My guess is that many other woodworkers are going to make the same for their workshop. Love it. 😁 Rob
🤗 Thanks Rob. This is a favorite job: Reuse old wood and create a functional piece of work. I'm happy with it!
Take care. Frank.
Fantastisch!!!
@@TheTinyWorkshop Dat is mooi! Je weet wel dat als je de klok neemt er ook 2 stoelen op wieltjes bij horen hè😂😂
Nice, but what if you have to access hands or face and everything on the front is glued together?
I think I have to break it open. But I don't know why I have to access the face.
I try to make it on my lathe machine but you R A great turner 😊
thank you.
This is not Tiny shop
No, this is "The Tiny Workshop" 😉
