I always like homage covers, they’re good to be on their own and also a nice callback to original iconic covers.
Justice League America 27 is an homage to the Exorcist movie poster and is one of my absolute favorites!
Mighty Avengers 16 homages Dardevil 168. Harley Quinn Vol 4 #21 as an homage to Killing Joke, and Lady Death Scorched Earth 1 variant homages Wonder Woman 1984 poster (the holo foil variant is stunning!)
I'm partial to ASM 252 homaging AF 15. Black suit Spidey hits different. Also, you should do a villain series. Top villain covers, top 1sts, best possible investment villain covers etc... I want some Doctor Doom love! (And why is X-Factor 6 so undervalued always? Apocalypse is severely underrated)

Spawn had a nice little run of homage covers in the 220's ending at that 230. Those, along with that Wolverine 55 are on my short list to pick up soon
Wow those DCeased connecting covers are awesome, I didn’t know they were out there either. I think Neal Adams did an homage to Batman 227 and Detective 31 with the latest Joker comic run, that might the one your thinking of. Fun video!
The recent scorched variants doing homage to I think it was the first 3 issues of the 90s X-men run was cool
Here's one Harley's little black book issue 5. It homages the classic Superman vs Mohammed Ali cover.
I love homages for 2 reasons, I'm a sucker for art, and it hits a level of nostalgia when you see it!!!
The Spawn event Scorched also did a variant connecting cover homage to X Men #1.
I think McFarlane can get away with homaging his own earlier covers, many are so well known and iconic, but a lot of other artists homage their own work at their peril. I love that Gothic era at DC in the early 1970s, the mist drifting over the scene and the terrorised woman running in fear from the threat - much of the credit goes back to the original "Dark Shadows" tv series. Swamp Thing #33 homages House Of Secrets #92 because the issue reprints the Wein/Wrightson origin story from HOS #92 as part of Alan Moore's story to explain the discrepancies between the Swamp Things, such as the different time settings. My favourite homage which you present is definitely Promethea #27. A really fun video James.
Oh one of my favorites that I own slabbed is Rogue Sun #1 Miguel Mercado Variant which is a homage to The Rocketeer movie poster

J - can you do a video breaking down the chronology of Spider-Man volumes? Where do volumes begin/end especially with 1990 spidey and spec spidey. Batman too. Tec vs regular Batman and why was it done that way. Pretty sure this is applicable to a few comics.

My favorite homages to Hulk 340: Marvel Zombies 3, Batman 125 and Spawn 226.
Those new Dan Mora Tim Drake:Robin variants are so cool
I always liked "Clint: The Hamster Triumphant" homage to the Dark Knight.
Best Variant is Crossed 100 #9 (2015). Love the GA horror homage
J Scott Campbell has some awesome homage variants. Love his Ms Marvel homage, Asm Annual 21 with Black Cat annual 1, Spider-Man 1 homage with Black Cat 1 is gorgeous. Then there's his self homage to asm 601 that's almost a companion cover with his Black Cat 1 Loft variant.
My favorite is Betty and Veronica #V3 #1 homage of Hulk 181.
I saw a Betty & Veronica homage to Silver Surfer #4 not too long ago, jeez, I really want that one!
That whole wave of dynamite tmnt homage covers all started with red room, which was the best, and in total there are like 10. I have them all!

If you like Simpsons comics, it’s worth noting Radioactive Man #216 parodies the famous Green Arrow/Green Lantern #85 cover. Instead of RM finding out his sidekick Fallout Boy is a junkie, he’s a dirty hippie!

I absolutely love Artgerm's Catwoman 12 homage to Batman 42. It does change the layout a bit, with a lot more Catwoman and Batman and Robin's hands only. I think some of his recent covers from that run are going to be up there with Adam Hughes's cover run from years ago

Tmnt vs Power Rangers II issue 1 has a tmnt issue 1 homage. The rangers are posed like the turtles. My favorite homage cover in awhile.

Homage covers can be fun but I'm tired of most of them (spiderman ones). I prefer the more subtle ones, or none comic related ones. Like Justice League dark Doing Beetlejuice or Aquaman doing Free Willy

My favorite homage is Amazing Spider-Girl 0 that has Mayday holding Peter in the same AF15 pose it's great and a lot of the spider girl comics are very good

Homage or rip off? That GREEN LANTERN ring collector cover was "borrowed" by JOE QUESADA for his "SCARLET WITCH goes nutty" varient for "Avengers Disassembled"! And of course, FF #1 swiped its composition from the 1st appearance of the JLA in BRAVE AND THE BOLD!
How could green lantern 49 from 1994 be ripping off a marvel arc from 2004?

tried Whakoom, tbh it doesn’t have like any old books; tried scanning the UPC on my 2nd app. of Moon Knight and there was nothing - even Avengers 15, no luck. shame because the idea is super cool!
Some of em you'll just have to look up manually instead of scanning
