Quick idea. Queen 2 was formerly the slave ant to queen1 so that is why they had 2 different reactions. Queen 2 just submitted and queen 1 being the previous prime queen had to be forced into her new roll.

If I remember correctly in colonies where there are multiple queens, sometimes queens will to do some sort of 'power play' where one queen will attack and kill the others over the course of days or even weeks in order to gain control over the entire colony.

Wow, cynical me. I really was not expecting to get surprised here, as you were like, "Wow, what happened totally SCHOCKED me" when right before you explained that Yellow Crazy ants were polygenus. I was about to write you off as a clickbait salesman, but then it was ACTUALLY SURPRISING and you weren't even just hyping it up. Well played.
Now was Queen 2 Struggling or refusing to join on her own, was she not accepting colony B unlike Queen 1, or did it just take some time to coat queen 2 in pheromones so she'd finally join? I think the agression originated form the Queen, not form Colony B's workers. Research time!
Ooooooh like the name suggestion, and hmmm the workers seemed to chase the queen around and she seemed to fight them off but you could be right. Queen 1 could have been the aggressor!

Amazing the hectic beginnings of the extravagant golden empire, before they even got their colony name. But now they are in a crisis and are in more need of help from the parasitic mites.
I love, that you take a closer look at ants. I personally think, that the second queen could have been accepted because her smell is more familiar. Isn't that very human like? Since ants use their brains to judge if something is a good idea, I really think they have something like emotions.
Ants probably have very rudimentary and simple emotions, but emotions nonetheless.

They constantly create pheromones to communicate. Their smells won't mix.
Otherwise, the ants in a nest couldn't detect if an ant is from their nest or another one. As far as I know, all ants use pheromones for that and not their eyes.
My suggestion is "The Citrine Swarm" their colour reminds me of the gemstone. And a difference between them is that these guys are twice the size of the black crazies.

In case you don't know, the dwemer are a race of dwarves from the Elder Scrolls games, and they primarily made machines, armor, and weapons, out of a very GOLD material. Although, they are extinct so not sure if that would really bring much fortune to your ants..
I also think it's appropriate since the Dwemer lived underground, similar to ant colonies.

+sunflower gaming Are you talking about crabs on Christmas Island? I've seen the video and it gave these ants a bad name right off the bat. They are indeed invasive ants, just like my black crazy ants and the fire nation, but in many parts of the world they are now found, they are not as negatively impactful on the ecosystem.
