    When I was a kid and we ran out of toothpaste, Mom mixed baking soda and salt for us to use. Doesn't taste good, but teeth felt so clean!

    NEVER EVER USE SALT ON CAST IRON. It will destroy your seasoing. Been there. Just wipe out your cast iron. If there is still something stuck on the use your fingernail to scrape it off. Then wipe your cast iron with an oil soaked piece of paper towel. It should be shiny but not greasy.

    Salt in a hot bath helps with sprains and strains, also draws out infection in an open wound

    Put salt on brown paper and rub your hot dry iron on it to clean the bottom of it

    Baking soda works great also for putting out a stove fire.

    I worked in a Butchers, & we cleaned our Cutting block every night with Salt & a block wire brush. Gives you arm ache though.

    several years ago maintnance did not fo asnything about ice onn the steps of my apartment building, I took regular table salt down and pourd it out on the ice to get it to start melting

    Salt is great for salting pork. Salting beef makes it pretty tough. I only salt pork.
