Yeah I don't even care any more to be honest. I got like 3% left in my tank before I'm out of "Give a F*ck*" about working, making money, and keeping bills paid, and all of that! The only real goal I have is to get my son through high school. Once June 2027 comes around, I literally won't give a damn at all about making money or how awful things are. I will sip tea, be lazy, and let everything collapse and burn if need be! If I were to lose my job due to the economy, I will literally check out because I am tired of playing the game to spin the wheels. I won't go through what I went through in the last big recession with working awful crappy low wage jobs. I will seriously check out completely, and I know there are A LOT of Americans who feel like I do right now. We won't try any more when it happens.

It’s starting already for sure. Sadly my mother passed away last month and I totally forgot about my Chase cc pmt. I have never before been late to make a payment and even though I called them and explained that I totally forgot about it due to a family loss and that’s why I’m 11 days late and they immediately lowered my credit limit to it’s balance. I couldn’t believe it 🤦♂️

We are going into what Japan went to in the early 90's. If you are buying stocks right now you won't get a return for 30 years and since most of us are middle aged, you won't get a return at all. it's why cash, gold, silver and assets are exploding in price. The smart money is exiting and going into hard assets.

Imagine we are in a recession and the cost of things just stay high like it is right now , how can people survive while already losing their job
For the gas station setup, I imagine the purpose of filling up twice was to split the cost between paychecks (i.e. get enough gas to get to the next paycheck). This is regardless of if they spent a few bucks more on snacks.

We have been in a recession since the beginning of '22. My company downsized our workforce by 1/3, already. They are almost exclusively only hiring seasonal. Prices are up, wages are down, average car payments are over $700, and the same is true for other bills. Shit is not going well.
So sad when I saw a senior at the supermarket today, he bought only 1 apple, small package of spring mix, a bottle of dressing, two bottles water, and a loaf of bread. 😥😥

In one month Bitcoin fell from 60k to 30k in May 2021. Then it took 6 months to rise again from 30k to 69k. Remember that?
I’ve gotten some good raises but I’m more poor now than I was 4 years ago. Can’t put away any extra money in my brokerage and even had to stop my retirement contributions. I’m in a personal recession.

Look at new job postings on indeed for your local area. A year ago, every posting was starting at $14+ hour here. (7.25 min wage). Just looked last week and majority of job postings are for $10-12 per hour. This is the businesses hoping to get the desperate people to work for those wages.
Kevin the only thing with gas. Is If my car has more gas in the tank I am more likely to go for a casual drive around. Where If I don't have a lot of gas I am only go to and from work. Driving around is one of my favorite things to do to relax, but If I don't keep gas in the tank I am way likely less to drive around.

Fun to see the next generation going through their learning phase, repeating things they've heard somewhere, not yet realizing that these things aren't nearly as predictable as they seem to be.

So dramatic. Netflix made the call of not showing subsciber count because it shouldn't be a metric any longer. They have multiple revenue generating pillars and shouldn't gauge them on it. I'm glad Netflix finally made a Matured company decision.

There's a good video of Peter Lynch on RUclips talking about examples of this sort of thing he experienced in his career. Oil was going to go up, and there was going to be a depression. Then, oil was going to go down, and there was going to be a depression. The money supply was growing too fast, and people were saying we're going to have a depression. Then, it was growing too slow, and there was going to be a depression. The Middle East was going to own the world, they weren't going to buy our bonds, the market was going to crash, and there was going to be a depression. Japan was going to own the world, they were going to have all the assets, they weren't going to buy our bonds, and there was going to be a depression. Within three years, people were saying that Japan was going to collapse, and we're going to have a depression. Commercial real estate, global warming, war, nuclear war, yield curve shape. Does any of this sound a bit familiar? It's a lot of BS used as content. Forget the content creators. Listen to someone who actually knows what hes talking about, and made his money from the market not content - like Peter Lynch. You're welcome.

But those numbers are super skewed anyway because every food product is at least 30% more expensive.. It seems that the squeeze is here.
