She was made to eat that because her management at th3 time wanted to control her weight, knowing she has a history of eating disorders. Every person in the world deserves to eat whatever they want on their birthday without being made to feel guilty in case you put on weight. The media made her the poster girl for eating disorders and body positivity when she was still struggling because of her toxic management. She has no serious health issues where sugar could kill her instantly yet people got fired for having anything with sugar near her when she was on tour.

I was at the first show back at the Illinois state fair and it was amazing! If you're someone going to another date on the tour you will be very happy. Demi and the band sound amazing and the setlist is great!

Demi seems like she's in a really good place now. I'm proud of her for being so open about her struggles, her story, and seeing all of her mistakes and bumps in the road only made her seem more human to me. She's really grown up a lot these past few years.

Before her overdose, her management team was so controlling that she wasn’t allowed to have cake for her birthday and instead they gave here a watermelon cut into a round cake shape and topped it with fat free cool whip. Cake for her birthday after her relapse and recovery means a lot to her, to the point she even wrote the song “Melon Cake” about it. She was so haunted by her body image issues and eating disorders and they made all of it worse. When she started again into her bulimia it got so bad she was vomiting blood and when she asked for help her manager told her sending her to rehab would make them look bad and she wasn’t sick enough. 💔 she/ they have been through so fucking much.
I love Demi so much since I was a kid… and seeing her like this make me so happy… to see that she is happy right now, and figured out who she is, and opened up with the world… it just make me so happy… I wish her all the good things in the world… I wish her all the happiness that she gave me for all these years. I’m 36 and I knew when my baby sister who is 12 years younger introduced me to Demi when they were 12 watching camp rock ( I want to say it was 2008 ( because I was pregnant with my 14 yr old daughter ). I KNEW then that they were gonna be a huge star. Their vocals are amazing. I went to her ( she uses the pronouns they,them,her & she now ) concert in 2017 in St. Louis when she toured with Nick Jonas and I begged my ex wife for tickets and she got us 4th row seats for our anniversary. When I say I had cold chills the majority of the show because her voice / lyrics she sang made me so emotional. She sings from the heart. I’ve too struggled with opioid addiction and it will be 8 years clean from them on Dec 31st ( yes I got sober on NYE ). Demi might be younger than I but we’ve battled our emotional trauma ( our upbringing) and everything our addiction put us through and then to overcome and work through our pain/ emotional trauma is one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through . I’m sure they would say the same exact thing. I’m so proud of Demi . I thank her for being real and authentic. The industry will eat you up and spit you back out and she’s handled it with more grace than I ever could’ve !
