    Don't suppose you have the plans for this? :)

    • @Ollaris
      @Ollaris  6 лет назад +78

      Honestly? No. The top is 60cm x 40cm, the fence is 10cm x 60cm and 6cm wide. The bottom part is just long enough to go on the braces. And the pieces glue the top are just bigger than the router base so that you can clamp on them. Feel free to make yours smaller or bigger.

    Vielen Dank, das ist tatsächlich mal ein Tisch, der ohne Schnick-Schnack auskommt. Schön, das Du begriffen hast, wie unnötig ein Parallelanschlag ist, den man bei einem Routertable tatsächlich nicht braucht, ein "normaler" Anschlag reicht völlig. Die Idee mit dem Wagenheber ist genial und ohne großen Aufwand umzusetzen. Statt eines eigenen Unterbaus für den Tisch, nimmst Du einfach eine Werkbank, super! Die Einzelteile sind in einer kleinen Werkstatt gut zu verstauen und nehmen nicht so viel Platz weg.

    Yet another use for a “workmate” type bench. Great thing here: you don’t really “use up” anything permanently except the wood itself and a few screws/nails- the router, the bench, and even the jack are easy to remove, with under one minutes effort. Great design.

    This is the best I've seen so far... but I don't think one of these sorts of supporting tables is really sufficient: I think you need to clamp it to a sturdy, heavy workbench. There was a jump cut at one point (@3.53) and I was wondering whether that was because the table wobbled a bit. The forces unleashed by a router are immense. Great relief to see you using push sticks for everything.

  • @randomscandinavian6094
    @randomscandinavian6094 6 лет назад +1

    A lot of the comments are about the lift, which does indeed look very nice. However, having never used a router before and planning to buy one, I thought they tended to come with a built in depth adjustment? Anyway nice video with nice soothing music! I’m getting complaints at home from all of the RUclips powertool noises. :D

    • @Ollaris
      @Ollaris  6 лет назад +1

      Honestly, most of the Plunge ones are just spring loaded and you push them to the depth you want to make the cut and lock it in place. You have the fix based ones where you need a fixture/lift so that you can use them upside down. It's nice to hear your opinion about the music, I mostly just get a comment that people would rather hear the tool noises.

    Thanks and well done for making a really concise vid that does exactly what it says in the tin. One question though, did you use the existing baseplate screws to attache the router directly to the plywood (ie. bolting the router from top -> down, through recessed holes through the ply) or were there other holes in the router via which you screwed directly into the ply (from bottom -> top)? Confused? I am ;-)

      Yes, the springs are still in the router. I recommend to lock it always.

      @@Ollaris ok thanks.i have a laboratory jack i hope it will be able to lift against the springs

    • @Ollaris
      @Ollaris  5 лет назад

      And if not, you can push it up by hand if the springs aren’t too stiff.

    That's very cool. But what is the router riding along to ensure it stays square up and down? I didn't see any rails or rods to guide it up and down? I'd like to build this but need the answer here. Thanks.

    • @Ollaris
      @Ollaris  6 лет назад

      Thanks Scott. As this is a plunge router it has the rods to keep it go straight up and down. This won't work with a fixed base router.
