    Since I received my car, I have driven 1474 km in a mixed environment with my EQB 350 4matic, and achieved an average of 17 kWh / 100 km. On the last longer trip with about 40% motorway and a distance of 164 km, I achieved an average of 15.8 kWh / 100 km. This with 5-10 km/h above the speed limit.
    The point is that one "must learn how to" drive an electric car economically and not least learn the individual model.
    I am now constantly at an estimated range in the range 440 - 445 km when charged 100%. That is very acceptable.
    Let it go that I could manage to cover 510 km with my previous car, a Kia e-Niro, but it was both smaller and lacked four-wheel drive.

      How did you manage to get more range then the specified (416km) in the website? I've been looking at info and it's average was in the 330km, made me worry a bit.

    Very interesting review, just took a test drive yesterday, I completely second your opinion that how awesome this car drives. We are looking for 7 seater electric option this one tick Many boxes but lacks in boot space, higher price on basic model, and lower range based on its price tag

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 года назад +1

      Great points! Weirdly, range is something I think about less as I spend more time with electric cars. When I did the EQC video I genuinely stopped thinking about the fact that it had a battery under the floor and managed to get 170ish miles from a charge even driving like I was filming a video for the entire chilly weekend. EQB certainly has a real world range advantage with a newer-generation heat pump installed. If you can charge at home and have a full charge most days, I'd think that range would mostly turn into something to consider on longer drives.
      I've price/spec checked it against its closest competitor from Audi and with the Q4 e-tron 50 quattro S-Line brought up to the standard level of equipment that comes with the EQB AMG Line the prices are pretty close. Admittedly, the Q4 does have a bigger battery but no third row. The battery tech will only continue to advance rapidly and it's only a matter of time before EVs will be able to comfortably get diesel levels of motorway mileage.

      I drive an EV too and charging from home is fine, but doing road trips is stressful, despite how much planning you do. This is why I'm looking at a Tesla Y for my next car, the infrastructure seems to be the best out there at the minute.

      @atlehunekonge Год назад +1

      Hi, no big complaints. We had to re-program the key, to sensitive for opening the hatch. Took a while to get used to the D-Auto mode, and when I got to used to it, smooth sailing. Winter tires were a bit more noisy, or different frequency, so a bit more noise with winter tires. The pull-out cover in the back is a bit flimsy, and when taking it out and back in, hard to do without scratching plastic interior where it rests. Also mine is a 7 seter - the holders for the rear back seat belt snapped of very quickly, so there is that. All in all a great car.@@davebowman1982

    A car with a huge amount of potential!!! The EQA was a ginormous disappointment in terms of its boot space, internal space, and lack of innovation in comparison to its competitors. I’m glad to see the EQB has more space. But the price is a bit of a whopper for what it actually offers. I mean any car prices above 30k offers a very high level of internal quality now…

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 года назад +1

      What I and a lot of our customers have been doing is comparing it to the EQC - virtually the same WLTP range with two extra seats for around £20,000 (and half a tonne) less. Some more material/colour choices would be great in the EQB but the cabin feels solid even with me climbing over the second row to get in the boot! I think there is more to come from this new model.

    Great video. This is definitely top of my shortlist at the moment. I did have an Audi Q4 on Order but its been severely delayed so looking for alternatives. Was extremely disappointed with the Tesla Model Y interior and ride quality. When I test drove the EQB it blew me away. I do wish the range would be a bit better but I think the class, comfort and quality more than make up for that.

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 года назад +1

      Even without my Mercedes hat on the EQB is a seriously good all-rounder. I'm yet to drive the Q4 and Model Y as of yet but hopefully that'll change soon as I was very impressed with the original e-tron SUV! EQB impresses me with how it drives like a car rather than an SUV, if that makes sense. As for range, it helps to not drive it like you're making a video on it - 3 mi/kWh is easily achievable in normal driving for a 200 mile real-world range (not accounting for the time spent coasting and recovering energy for some bonus mileage). Larger batteries will, I'm sure, follow in a few years but as it is right now it's a pretty good starting point.

      Was top of mine too. I ordered a EQB 350 Premium Plus mid-July. I'm still waiting for it -- build was set for 14 October with a 16 December delivery but build has been pushed back to "at least end of October" and although (understandably), delivery has not been rescheduled. Who knows, maybe this week I'll have some good news that it has finally been built. It will be worth the wait once it arrives, but the experience is incredibly frustrating.

    Good review and lovely car...driving an ix3 with 280 range, i feel the 250ish range on this car just isnt suitable for my lifestyle and holiday roadtrips etc. Car manufacturers really need to be going over the 300 mile mark to be an alternative to ICE.

  • @jamesulbot
    @jamesulbot 10 месяцев назад

    Big let down is the rangem realistically you're getting less than 200 miles on a charge, compare that to the like of a modely / XC40 and you're getting a hundred more miles

    We just bought an EQB a few weeks ago. Have close to 1800 kms on it already it’s nice not to have a cookie cutter car like you see all the time. It really stands out as not many on the road..yet.
    It drives beautifully we do 110 mile /160 km round trip commute daily. It’s as smooth as glass and efficient. Costing approx 5.00 round trip in electricity. Beautiful inside and out. We don’t use the third row so lots of storage room and nice to have if we ever need extra seating. Super quiet and did I mention fast. Not many cars can catch it off the line in sport mode, so much fun !!
    Thanks for the great review I second all of what was said !!

    I know this is hard to predict, but is there any new updates to these eqa-b-c versions? Like bigger battery and stuff, like for the eqs suv that has up to 660km range? Id wish they would launch a type of C class but in electric only, like a electric c class estate, im not a fan of suvs, I really dont want a suv, but as these stupid trend seems to only grow more and more im soon out of options really and it makes me sad and annoyed, to bad the eqe is so damn expensive.
    But ive heard mercedes wont come with an electric estate so yay(not) to that, I really wish this suv trend would die.
    Can you please tell Mercedes to make a electric type of the C class estate, even if just 1 for me? Pretty please? Thanks. :D

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  Год назад +1

      As luck would have it, I saw the new model at the Munich motor show! The exterior changes are very slight; a sea of Mercedes-Benz stars replaces the twin-blade grille design and the interior gets a light refresh with an updated version of MBUX running on the displays. At the rear the light bar runs the full width of the car and has two smaller bars parallel in the outer section. Vents, handles, touch-points, internals, powertrains and batteries remain exactly the same as before. The only thing missing is the central touchpad and shortcut buttons which have now been replaced with a very shallow storage tray that can just about hold a die-cast model of a Concorde, from my experience. The tech is a bit more intuitive and now features wireless smartphone integration.
      Pricing and specification has yet to be announced for the UK but we are expecting this in the next few weeks. I think there will be a bit of overlap with pre-facelift and facelift models being able to be purchased for a time.

      It's a strong contender! It sits as a pretty unique offering for its size and seating capacity at the moment. The only other electric 7-seaters I can think of in the market at the moment are the Model X and a few van-based options like the EQV, iD.Buzz and Vivaro-e.

    Hi, great video... waiting for my EQB 350 due on 6th of June.
    I have a question though, will the D Auto feature get better with time? Using your example coming off on a slip road, will it get better at recognising this or is it just, this is what we get forever?

    • @LandLAutomotive
      @LandLAutomotive  2 года назад +1

      Excellent choice! Great question too - D AUTO will typically start to gradually slow you down around 500-600 yards before a roundabout so if the slip road approach is shorter than this, it will reduce your speed quite quickly. I imagine that on longer slip roads the deceleration will be less intense if the car figures that it has more road space to use before the junction. I hope this helps clear it up! Most of the slip roads on the dual carriageways/motorways near where I film are pretty short.

Not at this price as much as I like this vehicle in principle...and I hope it comes without the silly red trim in the interior. It sure ain't a 'sport' vehicle, lol.
