    The humblest, most authentic, and perhaps the most talented NFL star in the NFL right now. He is cut from a different cloth altogether. Nobody's like him. With so much intense scrutiny and doubt others would have wilted or let success get to their heads, but this young man is so unique. He is able to see through and past all the praise, glory and criticism too. I wish he continues to entertain us with his otherworldly skills for years to come. Maria Taylor is an absolute star as a journalist. She’s able to relate to these athletes like a cousin and it’s just different. Feels like they’re just chopping it up at a family barbecue and then “oh and where does such confidence come from?”

    • @Diamondbull
      @Diamondbull 2 года назад +5

      @@cashiemartin9195
      That is absolutely true, it helps because there is an absolute genuine social connection she can bring to the table that maybe a white counterpart cannot.
      However there are many other black journalists who are similarly great at what they do, but can’t provide this same level of family within the interview structure. Ie a Michael Wilbon, very professional, intelligent, and mentally agile.. but not quite as infectiously personal.
      This is something that is very unique to her skill set and abilities. Like I’ve seen others try to bring this element to the table, like a Stephen A Smith, but I haven’t seen a similar interview style as Taylors’ since perhaps Stuart Scott passed away. He also did a great job of bringing that feeling of family to his interviews IMO.

    • @cashiemartin9195

      Those older “black people” I named weren’t connecting with the athletes of their generation in the same way so your logic is flawed. Stuart Scott did, but not the other guys. They weren’t bad interviewers, but they didn’t deliver the same level of family regardless of era. So while the overall idea that younger is more likely to connect with younger maybe true, that isn’t the comparison point being made.

Whenever somebody tells him he played a great game he ALWAYS turns the attention to his teammates, and whenever the Ravens lose he takes the blame on his own shoulders. Lamar is super likeable. You can't dislike him. However, I am Lamar Jackson's biggest critic, because I saw his holes and wanted him to truly be great. Earn it, not handed a unworthy title. The man didn't sit on his talent. He has shown marked improvement in every deficiency, and for that I now really enjoy watching Lamar because his game is now complete. His drive will make him consistent and collected cool. That is all he needs to be at the top of the top and stay there.

    The contract negotiations had me twisted up for a bit. But, if I'm being honest, I do really like his personality. When he finishes his sideline interviews, he almost always ends with something like "I appreciate you , Ms. Lisa." He's a good guy with exceptional talent. And the fact that he doesn't sweat the critics because he's his own worst critic makes me like him more.

In the world that we live in today I’m just so grateful that we get the opportunity to be a part of his life. What a breath of fresh air…..what food for the spirit!!!! He sets the bar so high in so many ways and it’s not just the kids that look up to him and learn but also us adults too.
