SM64 Multiplayer is a Super Mario 64 hack released by Skelux: / skelux
This TAS was made by myself starting in summer 2015. After many months of collecting dust, I decided to finish it this last month or so with the goal to upload on the week of my birthday. Mission accomplished, as I turn 22 this Thursday! It took roughly 24k rerecords to complete.
Regarding the run, I believed this specific category would turn out to be an entertaining video, which is why I wanted to make it. It aims to quickly beat the game [v1.3] without using backward long jumps (BLJs), as well as avoiding "d-pad exploits." Basically, a taunt function using the d-pad buttons was added to this hack, but consequently cancels any type of character animation. You can use it to do crazy chains of Mario movement, in addition to other glitches like getting through doors.

Everything about this, just so perfect.
It's like insanely driven, drunk brothers constantly trying to 1 up each other.
The camera angles always quick panning showing random actions by the character that isnt doing anything.
Just the chaotic unexpected feeling this gives just provided so much substance to the video :')

No, this is a modified version of the game, so no, it doesn't count.
It's the fastest the game has ever been completed, even though it's not vanilla SM64 and would never count as a SM64 speedrun. It's the fastest time until someone remakes this with BLJs.

Can someone explain why they immediately warp into the castle at the start? Is that what's supposed to happen?
+Alex W Skelux programmed a function into this hack for online play where if both players press L+R+Start, it warps you back to the castle lobby. It works ASAP after file select.

Actually, it just shortens bowser fights as BLJs replace all door skips. This is why this is BLJless, to show how can a 2nd player "replace" bljs.
