The beginning is so true. Me and my wife been together 12 years and she heard a new moan. She asked me about it and I was like we got REAL time in now. I ain't got no mo shame! 😂😂
“Sister Act”= Classic cinema. “Sister Act 2” = Black classic. Thanks to the “urban youth”, Lauren Hill, the little militant boy that hit the high note, and the music.
A black woman I worked with once dropped the “all my life” quote from The Color Purple. I asked her if it was from a movie. You would’ve thought I cursed out all of our ancestors 😂
People who never watched it know that line. It’s been referenced so much in other things. Even if you never saw it I feel like if you don’t know that quote we can’t be friends. 😂😂
Sister Act 2 is A CLASSIC! We had songs, quotables, and choreo. I have never rewatched Sister Act. I have seen Sister Act 2 1000X. They always played that VHS in school too.
The five heartbeats, the temptations, the Jackson’s: an American dream and the last dragon are movies I’m judging you on if you’re black and never saw them. These movies are staples. In my family. Oh and Strictly Business
I am suprised of how many black people have not seen the original Sparkle 1970's, Polly (Black version) and every Breakin' and The Boy That Loved Christmas these movies were not necessarily box office hits, but cult classics a good ole Saturday special 🤣
My husband loves, loves, loves “The Goonies”. He has it on vhs, dvd, Blu-ray and he watches it whenever it’s on any cable channel…..no matter whose house we’re at or what we’re doing!!!!!
We listen, we don't judge...I am 36 and I just watched The Color Purple (original) for the first time this year. All my life our community has made jokes referencing the movie and now there's memes...I had no idea and couldn't really connect the joke. I just laughed when everyone else laughed. Now I laugh the loudest when it's jokingly being referenced because now I'm overcompensating for lost time 😂😂😂😂😂 Honorable mention: I did however go see the play but it's not the same lol
N you better be lucky you saw it or I'd be giving you a good talking to. Technically your time to watch has already expired. Don't even jeopardize yo card again.
Oooooooooooooooooooooo this is going to be fire on patreon. It's not out yet, but it is gonna be FIRE. These guys are hilarious. Especially when unsupervised.
Regionally we didn't get a lot of black movies in WA State. I lived in Lacey at that time and remember not getting BET until the mid 90's. We got stationed in Colorado and got to see a whole lot more there than in WA. Thank You video music box!! Kevin ain't lying 😂
I'm a Latino in my 40's, and I used to always get crap for not seeing "American Me" and "Blood in Blood out!" I eventually saw "American Me" in the 2000's, but after the jail rape scene, I didn't even wanna see the other movie...😳
Let me see if I can guess a few before watching...lol: Roots (though I have not seen it...sorry not sorry), Sister Act 2 (peeped that immediately in the comments and I agree), House Party, Coming to America, Friday, What's Love Got to Do with It, The Color Purple, Boyz N the Hood, Set It Off, Soul Food, Baby Boy (lol...naw, not for real), Life, Harlem Nights, The Tempatations, The Five Heartbeats...there is a lot...
Growing up sheltered and a church kid i saw alot of black movies late or not at all as i was not allowed to watch certain types of movies. Lots of the major ones i saw late gets me blocked or cursed out for not liking it lol
Sadly, I think it might be too late sis. It's never going to hit like it did, cause it was all we had back when it first came out. Too much to compete with since and now. Special effects, CGI, animation, music. All technically leaps and bounds ahead of what once was in those classic Black cinema days...
@@dfoster4001 I totally agree. When I saw some movies late and expressed what I think on Facebook.. Let me tell y'all work and high school friends disowned or blocked me 😭🤣💀
Same for me. I grew up very very sheltered. So most 'black classic' movies were off limits. By the time I was old enough to make my own choices my movie tastes had already developed. I don't like silly comedy, I don't like violence, and I don't like 'urban struggle' movies. I dont really care about the lack of technology and CGI and whatnot, I'm watching for the story. I keep trying to watch the classics for the culture but I missed the moment.
All the late 70's/early 80's babies all got tricked by Michael Jackson via Thriller. They sold him as one of/friend to us and then he turns into a werewolf in our faces. Huge betrayal. And the parents and older siblings still ain't bout nothing for teasing us with it and laughing. #traumatized
I am with Tony on Next Friday. I have never revisited that one, except funny enough, I literally just played the Pinky clip for my mom like a week ago. It's my favorite scene.
Thats the funniest scene in the whole movie, if that scene was not in it Next Friday wouldn’t be a classic…The 1st thing ppl think of when you say “Next Friday” is the Pinky scene 🤣🤣🤣
Not yall not mentioning He’s a Wiz as a classic, it kicks off there because “SWEETTT THING LET ME TELL YOU BOOOOUTTT THE WORLD AND THE WAY THINGS AAREEE-AAHH” 😂🥴
No mention of Roots, The Autobiography of Mrs. Jane Pittman, Colors (which led the way to the "hood" classics) Penitentiary.... it's so many and I'm just gonna say ALL of the black exploitation films.
Yall gotta turn the volume up on the podcast and Tony’s podcast I have to have the volume all the way up on my headphones and when the RUclips ads hit my eardrums be like😳🤯
Maybe its just my experience, but Black ppl tend to get surprised and sometimes upset that I havent seen Scarface. Its my dad's favorite movie ever, and ive seen bits and pieces, but not all the way thru. And i do not have any intention on seeing it in its entirety any time soon lol
35:55 my favorite version of this is in 'walk hard' when they're playing as kids 2mins into the movie"ain't nothin bad gonna happen today 😃 let's go play!!" 😂😂
The beginning is so very true. My fiance and I were just lovers and friends for the first 18 years we knew each other. We became a couple 2 years ago and became engaged 6 months ago. We are so comfortable with each other that we are surprised and pleased when new sounds are discovered
The fact that Tony is so well versed in movies never ceases to amaze me
The fact that I dont even consider fact checking it is crazy to me too lol.
He’s a lil autistic. Movie facts are his savant syndrome.
Jk 😂
Right.
The beginning is so true. Me and my wife been together 12 years and she heard a new moan. She asked me about it and I was like we got REAL time in now. I ain't got no mo shame! 😂😂
I'm in tears 😂😂😂 dropping a new moan 12 years in is wild work
Bruh had that moan locked away 🤣
Ok Shannon Sharp 🤣🤣 naw but yall better like those moans out
"I ain't got no moan shame." lol
His wife unlocked the battle pass

You outta bounds for that though 😂😂 like be glad it was just her and not a gang of black folks cause MAAAAAN we’d be on yo head!

And I love that so much for him. 😆🤣
Moans Mcgee🤣🤣🤣
The OG Sparkle. Do The Right Thing. Life. Malcolm X. And Boomerang...got to coordinate 🤣
I’m realizing that @tonybaker and Kev are like two kids playing pretend. I celebrate this joy they have.
They’re besties ❤
“Hector literally plays HECTOR IN EVERY MOVIE.” 💯😅😂😐
Sister Act 2 is a Black classic. Culturally iconic.
The random tony Bluechew ad 😂😂😂😂😂

Can’t wait! 😂

Wesley Snipes 90s run was unmatched!! And y’all still left out U.S Marshalls
Don't forget drop zone, and sugar hill.
I actually like US Marshall’s I’ve seen it a few times
And glossed over Art of War, that movie is so underrated
My mom would watch that every time it came on. I still get it mixed up with the Fugitive for some reason

Ok Strictly Business iykyk 👍🏽
I only seen the Jackson's. I was young and didn't wanna watch "old" singers movies. Young me did watch The Last dragon a 10000x tho.
Temptations for sure! Leon... Dennis Edwards scene... 1,000%
Not even a minute in & I’m dying laughing
Right! 😂
Same
Color Purple was the 1st movie that came to mind when I saw this title. Glad you guys did not disappoint.
My "The Wiz" V/H/S had the glitch lines during MJ and the crows scene from over watching from that point
Ease on down 😂
I saw "Coming to America" well into my twenties, precisely because of wifely ridicule. That's the one thing she was right about.
Unacceptable
There has never been a more overexposed clip than the this blue chew ad, Tony. 😅😂😂 Tony look like he in heaven talking about erections.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I need the show of a main character completely unaware of the tropes and all the side characters breaking the 4th wall trying to avoid their fate 😂.
That would make a great comedy movie, if written and casted right, and it can also be a great thriller 🤣🤣
I love this continuous conversation into the next episode 😂
Tony Baker IS imdb!
I agree with Tony I don’t like ppl who try to hard to be funny same
With movies some things should jus come naturally
Tony watches Friends or Seinfield though so😬……..I wouldn’t be caught dead watching that mess.

The Blue Chew ads are always hilarious lol
LMFAO Tone owed Kevin a "touché" for that Goonies call out (I love Tony I'm just commenting)
Kev! Harlem Nights was in Blockbuster in 2003. I was working at Blockbuster during that time. 🤣

I completely agree with Tony about the desperate laugh thing in Next Friday. Can't stand that movie

The sandlot is a good movie. Watched it last month w/ my wofe and daughter for our weekly fam movie night. We all enjoyed it.
