    Several years ago Amarillo had around 30" of snow dumped on it over just a few days. I ended up with my full sized van, all 4 tires, in someone's front yard across the corner (corner lot). Once back on snow covered pavement I went to the door to address the damage I had caused.
    Those folks were almost apologetic, telling me not to worry about it until things cleared up. I tore it up pretty good, went back twice before I felt it was done. Good folks in Amarillo.

    • @americangirl5081
      @americangirl5081 Год назад

      @@yoyo762that's not true. Every state is different. Like in my county in TN it's only 5ft of public road easement. You don't know every state and county easement standard. And nobody knows whether or not the woman is a renter or the property owner. Therefore, if she's a renter, her landlord could hold her reliable and that's why she wanted a report. So she don't get held responsible for the charges the landlord may want to charge her. And if she's the landowner, then still, she has a right to be upset over someone being on her property when they're uninvited. She could just be mad because they woke her up later at night when she has work super early. You do not know the full story of why she's so upset. Stop acting like you do. You have no right to call her a "karen". Otherwise you're being a "karen" by acting like you know every single little detail of her life and about the property that's not yours. And you're being a "karen" for acting like you know every state and county easement standards. So "yoyo" your brain into some action of reading a book or doing research to make sure you have actual knowledgeable facts that you can have based off true research proof. Otherwise, sit down and be quiet and stop acting like a internet bully who thinks they know everything and owns the comment section. 😂

      @KO Damage to vegetation that has no agricultural value that will grow back and no money has been spent on it's installation within 18 months (I believe) or it's appearance is not integral to running a business (such as a golf course which must keep grass in a certain condition to do business) or is not constantly maintained for appearance (such as the front lawn of a business kept in a certain condition for commercial appeal) is not considered a crime. Great job. No damage, including the "Holmes tree". It's a safe bet that had that been the neighbor's car they wouldn't have cared about damage at all, as long as the car was rescued. Some people should worry about more important things, like being grateful that the car was rescued and no one was hurt. I had a "gentleman " that had an accident that ended up totalling the vehicle. As I winches it onto my flatbed and tied it down he watched everything I did. Finally I asked him if he was in the recovery industry. He said no, he was an accountant. He wanted to make sure I wasn't further damaging his car. I told him to step back, I didn't want him to be hurt if a chain came loose (I was using wheel straps). Some people.

    If she did have intentions of doing something underhanded, then calling the Sheriff out there and having him write an actual report on the damages that occurred is going to backfire on her big time - a lawyer or insurance adjuster will take one look at that police report, and laugh her out of their office.

    It's just amazing what will set some people off. Like you said a little grass seed and it will be ok or like the officer said it would fill back in. Stay safe

    In your area it looks like if a land owner can build anything that resembles a road they will then build something they can rent . If the weather turns and it snows, seems like a lot of people will need help or just stay put for awhile. Wicked hill country there. I live in Nebraska so😊

    If she’s concerned about property damages, she shouldn’t be renting her property out.

    Nice head coverings, I'll bet those come in handy and warm. Good easy winch outs too , too bad that Karen was such a pain screaming she wanted compensation , for a couple of scuffs in the grass .🤣🤣

    seen in a long time.

    You should have seen my property when the drunk gal crashed into my tree, flipped her Tacoma, then rolled into my porch knocking off a column, then coming to rest on my house!
    A tuft of grass? Puhlease.

    As far as the cold that's got you wearing those nice fur hats, I have a fun fact for you as far as Alaska is concerned when your states get the bitter cold. Mostly if it's single digit temps in your area, in the Anchorage area it can be in the low 40's. See when this happens in Alaska it is because the jet stream moves northerly up through Alaska from Hawaii, then turns east before diving south. So don't let this blow your mind, but sometimes it's colder in Tennessee than in Alaska during the winter. Let that sink in. We also will get strong winds on the surface coming out of the south, Those are called , Chinook winds. It's really weird. I have actually stood outside on our deck in nothing but my underwear and feel a warm wind blowing across the snow. Naturally there will be a lot of melting so big puddles that refreeze and make the next day so much fun to drive. I can only describe that as, driving on a wet hockey rink.

    Another way to do this type of recovery ( high centered over an embankment), that I have used with great sucess, has been to use my autoloader and after strapping the wheels down boom up untill vehicle is parallel to the embankment slope then drive vehicle out till front wheels are a foot from cresting then adjust towing angle back down ( as to avoid damaging front end )
    This method works shockingly well, especially if debris had wound up under the stuck vehicle ( like a parking curb) 😉
    Leaving the winch free to low line off one of the trucks D rings to yank out anything stuck under the vehicle😊

    unfortunately there are people like that all over, I live out in the country and have some city neighbors move in. She got upset that four chickens that I owned came over and scratched up her property? Oh the damage they must have caused.

    Jeff and Kristen, I've never put a vehicle in the ditch, and I'm not likely to do so since I quit driving more than 6 years ago. I do understand though that Florida's favorite "black ice" (rain after a long dry spell) makes the roads excessively slick. I do understand how easily that could happen though!

    • @hamrad645
      @hamrad645 6 месяцев назад

      P.S. I do admit to popping a 360 degree wheelie, though, in the middle of an intersection, and boy, was I lucky that no one was in the middle of that intersection. Slickness causes lots of freaky things! I'm certainly NOT perfect and don't claim that exalted state!

    Y'all are awesome! I'll be honest, I've had a bad deal with a tow company before (not Y'all), so I know how SOME companies can be. My brother has been a tow guy for years though, and did a ton of bank repos, along with illegal parks, breakdowns, wrecks, DUI's, & was on call with our local police dept. So I can understand how hard Y'all work, the crazy scheadules, and the very angry people who can't take any accountability for their own mistakes. I think Y'all do an awesome job, & I wrote a review to reflect as much! ❤
