How come Windsor do so well in the 4's. But the likes of radley, eton, st pauls etc do well in the 8's but not the 4's. Can anyone explain?

In essence it’s kind of because the big public schools like eton and Radley etc choose to do the 8s because that’s what they have pedigree in, and because they have the manpower (massive squads) to be able to put together competitive 8s, Windsor simply have their pedigree in the quad and sculling, so that’s what they do

The bigger schools like St Paul’s and Radley dont really enter events other than the PE, as this is their main target. Other school like Windsor Boys focus on sculling and the quad.

@@yilongmusk3781 find it quite odd that, surprised they don’t try and enter all competitions

@@joshwheeler9732 Windsor boys school has more pupils than st, Pauls, shiplake teddies and radely. but they are a state school instead of a private school so they cannot give scholarships to pupils to board, they do enter 8s but they always have sculled. their j15s went to nat school in a 4x and the day after the 8 and won the 4x and came 3rd in the 8.
