That's one of the most underrated things that I've always noticed about giannis that doesn't get talked about enough is his ball handling dude has a great handle its not flashy but he's able to get to point a to point b with it.

Giannis adds to his game every year. It’s been incredible to watch.
One thing nobody talks about is how accurate his passes have become. It wasn’t long ago that many of his passes were off target and couldn’t result in a shot since the defense would close as the catcher readjusted the ball. Now most of his passes are spot on.

What makes giannis an all-time great is his ability to elevate his game when his team needs him most. Just when people write off the bucks, giannis turns into an even more unstoppable beast.
I mean let's not forget when people used to laugh at his poor free throw shooting...hack a giannis was a legit strategy. But in game 6 of the finals...when being fouled every time he drives, you expect him to fall back and pass more...giannis keeps attacking, somehow making 17/19 free throws while dropping 50. Great analysis of the specific Giannis situation on long 2s vs 3pts. Most people dont contextualize and like to throw out numbers without proper assessment. He's not settling for 2s as he's actually exploring an opportunity opponents give him. Although I believe this kind of shot is easier to adjust in a half-court situation, so I doubt he manages to maintain this efficiency in the playoffs.

New NBA rules. Make the 3 point shot arc only available in the last 5 min of each quarter. This will give every fan what they want to see. Old school basketball in the first 10 minutes. Make a lighted 3 point arc so the fans see it's available after the first 10 minutes of each quarter. If a team is down now, they can catch up with this weapon or fall further behind. The 3 will bring even better anticipation for fans and teams during this period of the game. Now we won't see so many misses all game long. Your welcome.

"You can credit the superstar level of Lillard, finding more minutes for young guys or Giannis' being a beast"
Or you can credit the fact that they played: Toronto, Detroit (x2), Hornets, Houston (great team), Bulls, Pacers, Heat, Wizards - which resulted in 8/9. And bonus, 7 of those 9 games were at home.
Aside from the Rockets (which they beat by 1), the Bucks lost to every real team they faced.
Giannis is an amazing player, and he's playing some of his best basketball - but the Bucks are trash

Its actually sad how both teams are letting them down. Jokic is definitely more valuable to Denver than Giannis is to the Bucks and you can't disagree with that. Dame plays all nba level basketball, while Jokic has to deal with a washed Murray. Jokic should be the front runner, for now.

@ jokic is more valuable to the nuggets fs, but giannis is helping this team to above .500 about starting 2-8. Giannis IMO is the most dominant player we have rn, and he’s playing on both sides of the ball at an elite level, hence why I have giannis as MVP.

Gannis is a great player. There's no doubt about that. But in all of these highlights where he drives past would be defenders for easy dunks or layups, it's obvious that no one in these hightlights are playing actual defense against him. He makes one cross dribble, the defender does not move his feet but instead waves at Giannis meekly as he goes by. He dunks. No one contests any of these scoring chances in the video we see. I am a Celtics fan. ALL five of our starters play defense, and even a couple of our bench players do too. Playing defense means you have to have the physical commitment of moving your feet so that your body is always in front of your opponent. Okay, Giannis is super elite in athleticism. So in that case, if you are going to get beat off the dribble, you shade him to your weak side help so that when he beats you, there is another body in his way so that he doesn't cruise in for that dunk. Am I saying the Celtics could hold Giannis to 20 points? Of course not. He is so good that if he is on, he will get his 35 or 40 against any defense thrown against him. But even if he does get 40, you have to make him sweat for it, use huge energy for it. Superstars like him can hardly be stopped, but you can at least make him tired. Then, at the other end, you have to go right at him, making him use more energy, making him jump, and more importantly, getting him to pick up fouls. That's what you try to do with EVERY NBA superstar. You can't stop them, but you have to at least make it hard for them. The guys in this video are playing matador defense. They are lazy, and they are saying, "Hey's no one expects me to stop a guy like Giannis, so I won't even try".

It helps that the league has made defense illegal. Nobody stands and takes the charge because they will be called for the foul. Even a slow, awkward center like Jokic gets transition points by knocking people down. Hate the NBA, it isn't basketball.
