Makes me laugh how people can't except an Evo X with a SST gearbox but won't bat an eyelid at the Nissan GTR which only comes with an auto box. Also this isn't the first time the Evo has had a auto box, the Evo VII GTA was available with an old torque converter style gearbox.
Not the worst video I've seen on a evo X. Def needs some work. The bov needs to be rebuilt. You can here it hiss after the ref off. The tune needs some work. The compressor surge is pretty bad considering the turbo size. There's a lot of "show" pieces on the car. Cool, I get it. But not much performance enhancing stuff here. It has 3 modes, Normal, sport, and S-sport. You don't have to kick it over to shift manually. You can do it whenever you want to. It's not recommended to drive it hard on normal mode. S-sport is really for driving hard or on the track. Overall, what I took from it is your Driving impressions. Good take on that! I'm a MR owner myself. So I know what it's like. Keep doing videos, do more research. You'll get the hang of things. Also, watch your vocabulary. A lot of US people on here, so when you use certain terms people get confused. Good job man! 3/5 stars
Very Very good idea by Mitsubishi, most cars has + n - shifting on the wrong mount, i like that they put + shifting backward motion n - shifting front ward motion...

+Garage 585 This one didn't come with the spare wheel but came with a tyre inflator and that foam sealer for punctures. It might have been an option on your car.
A lot of performance cars have the paddles fixed from the wheel, reason being when you shift during cornering it upsets the balance of the car. Some cars won't actually let you shift under tight cornering.

And it makes, um... a little bit more than 400hp. Specifically 404KW at the wheels.

I’m guessing you’re in sport mode and not super-sport mode. You really shouldn’t be going WOT in a tuned SST Evo in any other mode but SS. I can definitely hear some clutch slip - not good. Otherwise, good review.
I think that is how the SST transmission are, they sound like they are slipping but they are not. Although I prefer the kick back from the old automatic tranny
what are your mods? I have a 08MR SST as well but prev owner had bad tune and I got stuck with it now its blown. im curious to if I go the built bottom end and top or try the low miles motor and go from there.

Jye Terry - the engines are OK for 400 bhp. it's torque that's the issue with the transmission. indigo gt know what they're doing with these cars. did a terrific job with mine. budget for sway bars and ohlins shocks. arguably get these fitted before turning the power up.
RR - hi - stock block with the top end modified? you must have spent a fukn fortune on it fella! I left it at 410 (not to the wheels). gets expensive beyond that - principally relating to clutch pack upgrades.
You need to have a 50/50 or recirc blow off valve for the SST. Do that and get it tuned again, you shouldn't be getting flutter and it will certainly smooth out daily driving. I also doubt very much that you have 400bhp as the stock FQ-330 has around 328bhp and just adding an intake, exhaust and hard pipes won't get you an extra 70bhp. Source= I have a 550bhp Evo X SST.

+Erik Čizmadia Hi buddy, I'm 100% sure the owner hasn't modified anything on the SST gearbox to handle the torque. It's standard. A lot of people have been saying it can't handle it but this one has been fine so far! Plus it's not driven really hard all the time. I hope that helps.
PerformanceCars, thanks for the answer, I am intrested in the clutch, my mechanic said they tried a lot types of clutches and it was slipping, that it can't lock it. He make rally spec cars and he hasn't found a clutch which is not slipping when the torque is over 600NM
I use SSP clutch packs on my Evo X MR. They hold the power great, Dodson clutch packs are also awesome. You mechanic maybe doesn't know about these aftermarket clutch packs, they are pretty much Evo X MR standard for high horsepower.
The race gloves are there just to differentiate myself to other car reviewers on RUclips. No harm in wearing them? I don't understand why you have question marks for the MR and 390 bhp...

Why are they the worst ones? HKS is pretty much a universal BOV, the only thing that changes is how it's installed in stock intercooler setups through the use of flange or recirculating adapters.

it's basically a double clutch manual without a clutch pedal. it needs to be shifted manually to maintain longevity of the sst. clutches slip less in sport and supersport as well. its far from an automatic ...educate yourself

the paddles don't rotate with the wheel because the wheel is supposed to be straight when shifting at the limit of grip.

the SST will handle whatever you throw at it. it's the clutch packs that will need upgraded to handle more then 380wtq.

I think what Nasir is saying is that the vent to atmosphere isn't great for these cars. A recirculating valve is the way to go for MAF equipped motors
