I was 45 when he died and my dad called me on that day to tell me. We agreed on that Motörhead was great music when I was a child, he was more into the blues thing but even songs like Ace of Spades have blues influences. Rest in Peace you magnificent man, may the world remember you deserve, the man who said "fuck it, do what you want".

I wept when I first heard this song I'm a lifelong Motorhead fan ever since 30/03/ 79 my 18th birthday, a Motorhead concert in Cambridge England. Tears well up every time I hear it. Lemmy was one of greatest lyriciys of all time.
I have been a Motorhead fan for over 40 years and every time I hear this song it still gets me. He also wrote a song called Don't let daddy kiss me that came out in 1993, a hard song to listen to but an essential song to listen to. Lemmy certainly knew how to put a message across in song that is for sure. I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times and he even remembered who I was when we met again, he was an honest man and a honorable man.

First time i heard this song I was in the middle of a discography run of Motorhead, for those who don't know, this is the last song on the 1916 album. Pretty much all of the songs leading up to it are your typical fast paced thrashing Motorhead songs, there is no warning for what comes at the end. I was at work when I was listening to the album and when 1916, the song, ended, I had to run to the restroom cause I was on the verge of tears and I'm not a person who normally cries
