Surveyor here: I haven’t watched the entire video but wanted to give a shout out to the engineering student who carefully placed the total station on the tripod WHILE HOLDING THE HANDLE OF THE TOTAL STATION the entire time. 👏. See so many times even from us veteran surveyors this is not done, it’s just laziness really. 👍
on the Tripod setup, I raise it up to about your chin. The reason why is, when you spread the legs out, the head of the tripod lowers. You don't want to crouch down to look through your Total-station because it was set too low.
When shooting control points would it be better to shoot 3 controls points in a triangle or set up on a known control and backsight the other for a good set up?
As a starting Surveyor a few months into the job. Is there a video you recommend or can you make a video of what's the correct way of handling a total station and setup.

Is the same with the trimble s6 when setup stn? And how about two coordinate have known ( definitly Stn coordinate and back sitgh coordinat)
