My granddaughter is 12 today. A year ago she broke her collarbone at practice. No contact for 3 months. Then COVID hit and everything shut down. She’s a goalie and tough as nails. We are not allowed at her games either. They just started back up in Oregon. Restaurants are still closed so we will be celebrating her tonight with a dessert that she will make, as cooking and baking is her other passion. Sending love and patience to Turin and Landon. God heals on his own timeline!
Turin if you read this just remember that you’re not alone. I’m been through the exact same situation. Literally. It hurts in the moment but in the long run it’s really beneficial. Stay strong 💪

Turin, I play soccer as well very competitively I had my second concussion this past fall season. I was only out for a week it sucked I miss some games and practices. But its important to know your limits I passed out during a game but the coaches didn't know about it because I didn't tell them and I got right back up a few seconds later. I went right back into practices and games as soon as I was cleared to do so. Don't rush right back in after your schedule thing your doctor gave you because I did that and I suffered badly for it. The headaches were bad, felt dizzy all the time during practice. Get better soon
Courage Turin I understand you, the same thing happened to me as a boy with a few points in my head. Do not worry, these are the accidents of those who practice sports, you will return to the field stronger and more prepared than before. By the way, congratulations on your 13th birthday. 😊

Concussions aren’t something you want to mess with. My daughter got 2 in a week and it took her six weeks to stop having headaches. I’m surprised there isn’t an online parent course for concussions. We have a program in Canada So we know what to look for. Turin is a smart boy to know that he shouldn’t play, with his parents help convincing him it’s better. 2 weeks off or a lifetime of headaches.

I really respect the way you are handling your issues with the concussion, a sign of a true man and good sportsman and teammate.

It is awesome that he will at least be able to go along for the ride and support his team, I am glad you are playing it safe though, because concussions are nothing to mess with. I am also praying for Mr.Lando's recovery still as well. I'm amazed at how children bounce back from adversity. I played competitive soccer growing up. I was an 00 so hearing that 08s are turning 13 made me feel quite old. I have had 4 concussions. They are definitely not fun, but I was fortunate in that the recovery time was never more than a few weeks. Praying that Turin has a similarly speedy recovery and can get back on the pitch soon!
poor Turin! I had a concussion for half of my sophomore year of high school along with the whole summer up until my junior year after getting my head slammed into turf while sliding at softball and it was the worst head throbbing pain ever. You’re amazing turbo! Power through and happy belated birthday teen!

I am the mom of two former soccer players, one who played in college. They are 32 and 36, now. I remember a few injuries that kept them out of some really big, important games. It hurt my mama heart that they were so disappointed.
What a great young man Turin is. My grandsons would want to be with their teams too. They are now 19, 16 and 16 and all athletic. 6 ft tall and look down on this 5 3 grandma. We’ve always worried about concussions but so far have been lucky. Have fun Turin! Happy Birthday!!!!
As soon as I saw in the previous vlog that he had blacked out after the ball hit him, I knew he had a concussion. Nothing to mess with. Smart doctor but SO hard not to be able to play.
