Releasing endangered Vancouver Island Marmots to the wild

Vancouver Island Marmots are one of the most endangered mammals on planet, with only about 300 in the wild as of our June 2024. A conservation breeding program is helping recover the population from near extinction.
Watch as a young marmot is released to a nest box, and then begins to explore its new home in the wild.
