Excellent, strong motors. They are some of the hardest worked trucks in the South Pacific/Africa and happily do 100,000 upon 100,000s of thousands of kms. Only bugger Is the price and they are a pain in the arse to work on.

@@TAI-lr5vr I bet it does.. I’ve been fortunate enough to own a 60, 80, 100 and now a 200 series turbo diesel Landcruiser. Must admit, the 60 12H-T and 100 1HD FTE are the favourites so far. Keep up the good work mate.

These 4.5V8’s are POS 💩, gutless for a V8 unless you spend $25K on engine upgrades, turbo, intercooler, fuel pump, injectors & on & on 💰& its still a letdown.
But i’ll stick with my Nissan Patrol Td42ti coil cab ute with a 18G 25psi 👍 she’s been run’n a 18G from the first 2wks i bought it brand new in 2004 & now she’s just clicked over 400k’s & never turned the key & been let down. Old school Japanese 4.2ltr turbo engines are the best, no common rail crap & DPF & no electronic & computer crap 💩.
But hey each there own, that’s just my opinion.

What you mean is that in 2016 they introduced DPF...They have have EGR since birth in 2007. What you also mean is the Engine has tighter Clearances, not tighter tolerance. Tolerance is only as good as the tooling
DOHC isn't complicated as far it goes the Duramax is simpler because it's pushrod but it still is a 4 valve engine even though it's a 6.6 diesel pickup engine.

The 1hdfte video is also on the channel. HDT and HZ base is about the same bar some engine internals as well as fuel pump and cylinder and the other ancillaries that are associated with the engine
