For years we’ve had the Welsh bleating about the “handball,” but no mention of the blatant penalty Scotland didn’t get when “Dai the drop” tripped Dalglish….
Welsh FA blundered getting the game moved to Anfield to make some cash as it turned into a home game for Scotland. Aye poor penalty decision but some 2nd goal. Mcleod and our FA made an arse of things for the WC sadly
@Kiln99 think we peaked in 77 sadly as well as McLeod making poor decisions in 78 WC taking an injured McQueen and being too loyal to Masson and Buchan. The amount of talent we didn't even take was unreal like Andy Gray, Alan Hansen, Arthur Albiston. Another what could have been sadly
Absolute incredible Scotland support that night
Love the Scots but oh dear never a pen, great goal king Kenny.
I watched it live, I was 19. I knew right away that Jordan handled it, Archie McPhersons biased commentary as well. Im Scottish.
Proper old school international, my god football was so much better in the 70s compared to the prats we watch now.
Up the villa
I watched this as a football mad 9 year old ... I'll never forget Buchan on the overlap before King Kenny did the magic .... 🤓

Looked like Dalglish slipped before the keeper touched him
Two cracking stripe

Stonewall penalty on Dalglish denied.
@JohnSmith-vz2jq aye looked like it although Kenny should have bloody went round the goalie and scored 🤣
Guys sitting at side of pitch with a can of Tennent's lol
And that was the subs bench.
Worst penalty decision ever and I'm not Welsh.
That's what you call a tartan army.
Im Scottish...that was never a penalty. However, i remember Gareth Bale tripping himself up and gettiing a penalty against Scotland
The Scots completely lost the run of themselves after this. Helicopters from Hampden 🚁🚁🚁 etc
What's the stadium?
Anfield Road, Liverpool
Almost as good as Maradonas hand of god😂
Scotland got there and England didn't, god knows how.
England weren't too great in the late 70s and 80s. Lots of really good players but didn't seem to perform
@ianmcilwraith4479 very true, loved that Scotland shirt I the late 70s
@mrshifter9582 aye it was a cracker. Very iconic. I think 70s and 80s were the best for kits. So many good umbro kits I remember as a kid
Scotland got there simply because they had a bloody good team stuffed full of supremely talented players... Oh and Roughie in goal too.
