Why the Music in Silverado is so Memorable : ruclips.net/video/-R9UPI9aNT0/видео.html
Well if we're on the Bruce Broughton train, we need to hear Homeward Bound now. Incredible Horn theme.
yes please ❣
This was a good music to put pedal tones in the trumpet part
One of the greatest musical movie scores of all time
5:10 thru 5:40 = pure horn magic. The cream does flow!
15 minutes of some of the most intense and thrilling music ever written for film? And preformed impeccably as usual? Absolutely fantastic! Maybe consider some stuff from Texas Rising next, sounds pretty similar and Broughton wrote it with John Debney of all people!
I can’t wait to finish this 12hr shift and get home to play this one!!!
I,m going to use Silverado for my birthday bash this sept and then again at HornsAPlentyChristmas this year !!Dec 21 -24 By the way , I really enjoyed your version of it !!!Horntastic!!!
All of the heroic chords! Play all of them :D
I got to meet Bruce Broughton a few months ago and he talked about all the other great composers that he worked with and took from and this film definitely shows some of their input!! I love this score and this is performed so well!
a delightful performance from the 2 of you! to think there are talented horn players who remember this fine music and can play it so incredibly well, I very happy to hear this!
Marc certainly has me beat on score knowledge, but after watching Silverado and hearing the horns rip about 30 minutes into the movie (1:30 in this arrangement), I could never forget this amazing score. It was so much fun putting together the medley and arranging it
Nice! Some of those trumpet parts looked pretty scary. One of the most impressive things though was the quietness and control of 5:06. It's almost unfair to have you blend in with a flute up there like that lol.
blame the arranger on that one haha. There's a reason I wasn't the one who played that
Quite remarquable. Trumpets are always played too loud in the orchestra. He nailed it and managed to control volume with expertise :)
Sounds like Copland
Indeed it is! A lot of the western soundtracks took inspiration from Coplands Billy the Kid and Rodeo as well as Dimitri Tiomkins scores
Sounds like John Williams. A lot.
Yet another stunning cover. You and Andrew's playing will never cease to amaze and impress me. Great job!
Fantastic cover! We played the Broughton arrangement of this for high school band and to this day it is the coolest song I've ever played. 5 years later and I still listen to it atleast once a week. Bravo on such a good representation of the range and power of a horn!!
I f-ing love this theme. You play it so beautifully.
It's not nearly as horn-heavy as Silverado, but Bruce Broughton's score for Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey is absolutely spectacular
Wow... I lift my hat for you guys if I hadone... Amazing job.
You guys have NAILED it!!! Great arrangement, lots of stuff I hadn't heard or remembered hearing as well as the glorious stuff we all love. Great work Andrew and Marc, keep 'em coming...
Incredible as always
Jouer ça en une prise à la perfection ça m’impressionnera toujours!!
EPICC
Wonderful, wonderful cover! Lovely clarity and technique during the performance! Thanks for sharing! :D
Brings me a lot of joy to see Silverado getting love. It was a huge part of my childhood, and really shaped my perception about the western genre. I have a lot of love for the cold western aesthetic, and it was really perfected in this film. I could go on ad nauseum about why I consider it an incredible buddy movie, as well as a fantastic firearms film, but I'll be brief. Your rendition of the theme is fantastic. Earned a like and subscribe.
Damn if some of that counterpoint isn't downright John Williams-y.
it seems nothing works as well as brass, especially the French horn, for these western themes. Everything from movie like this to "Blazing Saddles" had somebody who understood that. Since I've seen a few of your videos, I knew to expect superb technique and musicianship. Your videos should be some of those especially watched by students for inspiration and examples.
Please do "Entering the Golden City" from The Road to El Dorado by Hans Zimmer! :D
