Hi Amy I just love to watch you and try your recipes I do enjoy cooking and sharing my food with others to try. My friends always are waiting for me to cook some kind of a dish. I have one friend she will come as soon as I tell her I am cooking she will say "I am on my way" we have been friends for over 50 years oh oh I told my approximate age lol oh well God has bless me to reach this age and I thank and praise Him. Going to make this next week. Hmm how much beer to use I don't drink beer but can purchase one can I think I will add some shrimp just for fun lol
The Louisiana Holy trinity is bell pepper, celery and onion. The other states use carrot, celery and onion . Being from New Orleans, I use the Louisiana trinity. Just FYI. Love your show, your beauty and expertise. don't change! You and John are a wonderful example to all of us!
not all states use carrots either ! i dont im from philly we use onion celery & bell pepper ! i dont kno if you dont get around alot but your wrong on that .
Hey Amy! My son called me earlier and said..."Mom, some Jambalaya sure sounds amazing". (hint hint) LOL I said well, get your taste buds ready and I'll make ya some. Lol I have a recipe that's in my head and it has everything you use but I want to try yours specifically. Funny how we just make things without exact measurements. New Years day is just 3 days away, so I'll probably wait until the 2nd to make it. We gotta have our black eye peas, fried cabbage, pork chops, cornbread, a big chunk of raw onion and a hot pepper first. YUM!😋 If I don't talk to ya before hand...hope you, John and the family have a Happy New Year!!🎉 Big ((Hugs)) and Love from your Texas neighbor!!🤗💙
I love watching your videos, visiting Louisiana is on my bucket list, I'm a huge. Foodie I love to cook especially southern/creole food I make a mean pot of gumbo lol, what is your favorite dish from your area is it gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish etoufee, fried chicken lol I love it all
Thank you so much! When I make Pastitsio (my hubby is Greek)we simmer the tomato paste also to develop the taste...but I didn't do it last time I made jambalaya & now I know why I felt something was lacking!
Hey Amy! I'm back to report in on the Jambalaya I just made...it tastes delicious. I also added a can of Rotel and a bit more cayenne but yes girl, this is a winner!! Mine took about 30 minutes, at 25 minutes I found some grains had a tiny bite to them. Great recipe!! Happy New Year again!! Big ((Hugs)) and Love from your Texas neighbor!!😘💜🤗
So glad to hear your report. More cayenne is a good thing. Yes, it is! I try to keep my recipes on here in the mid range as far as how spicy but I will add more for John and me as well. A can of Rotel is a one stop shop addition and I love, that. Thank you for sharing. You made it your own recipe!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had lost my recipe and it was really close to yours. I’m so grateful to you for this. Your hands are so beautiful. Have a happy and joyous Easter ✝️🙏 Love and prayers from Your Neighbor in Texas 🤠
You look so pretty today. Blue must be your color. Video was perfect...no problems at all tonight. As long as I lived in LA I never once tried Jambalaya. You make everything look so good. The greens and cornbread that were not shown got my attention. I have been craving greens, turnip is my fave. My sweet neighbor brings my supper over sometimes three times a week and last night among other things she brought turnip greens and a corn muffin. It was so good. The Lord knows what we desire and many times makes a way for us to have something as simple as greens and cornbread. You’re doing an awesome job, Amy. Don’t get discouraged....keep smiling that beautiful smile. Love ❤️ ya my friend. 💜🙏🏻
You are so right. God does take care of us. Even to the point of greens and cornbread😊 your neighbor sounds like an angel!! How wonderful. Thank you for your kind comment. happy Easter snd God Bless you💜
Looks delish Sound is fine on my iPad.Thx again for taking the time to do these awesome video’s it’s going to dip down to -5 Celsius here tonight but the snow is gone and my rhubarb is popping through so spring is on its way. Happy Easter from Ontario
So thanks for the recipe my hubby really liked it. Unfortunately I did not the rice was a bit undercooked for my taste. Probably did not help my rice stuck a bit to the bottom which is odd I have never had anything stick in that pan. I think I would prefer the rice cooked on the side.
I love the prayers John Murray says, I pray with him.
You both got me reminded to Pray before eating. Thank you for the good influence!
