Thank you. By far the best video I've watched on the Clach Glas-Blaven traverse... really get a feel of what it's like. Am aiming to do this next year - still undecided whether to solo it or get a guide (I've got quite a bit of rock climbing/mountaineering experience but I'm getting on a bit these days), but that'll probably depend on the conditions. I did the Cuillin Ridge solo nearly 30 years ago, and that was a fabulous adventure. I've heard the initial climb up the main pillar of Clach Glas (in background at 2:46) is technically the hardest section ? The descent fom The Imposter looks ok and the 20m Chimney looks like it has good holds. As ever with these 'big' mountain ridges, it's the staying calm and focused on the technical sections - and, most of all, paying attention to where you're putting your feet on the 'straightforward' but very exposed sections - that's crucial!
Cheers Chris. Apologies for the music 😁. Sounds like you are way more experienced than me. As you’re probably aware, route finding can be difficult on the Cuillin. Add ever changing weather to that, and things can quickly become quite tricky. ATB Dave

Hi Dave, just started watching your RUclips, very good 👍 ah the Cuillin, the best mountains in Britain, spent a good few years climbing up there, did a winter traverse on Clach Glas 2007, enjoying the wild camping vids as well, no bravado, great stuff. 👍
Cheers Jim😎👍. Love the Cuillin. This is the first year I’ve not been to Skye since my first trip there in 2008. Still got 3 Munros to do on Skye - ATB Dave
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it 👍. It really is an amazing route, especially in those fantastic conditions 😎☀️. I’ve had very few days in the Cuillin with weather like that. It’s normally 🌧 🌧🌧. ATB - Dave
Looks brill! I plan to have a go at it! Is the 20 meter chimney avoidable? Or would it be a full back track of that point was reached and didn't want to do it? Thanks for such a great video!
Great video. I am 80 now and no longer on the hills. However I have always wanted to do this route and your video shows it clearly. I have climbed Blaven several times but never this way. Which guide did you use ? I had the late, great Martin Moran for my InnPinn ascent
Thank you Michael 🙏🏻. One of the hardest routes I’ve done, along with pinnacle ridge on Sgurr Nan Gillean. I used Matt Barrett at Skye Adventure for all my guided routes on Skye 👍
Like many of the finest mountains in Scotland, Clach Glas isn't a Munro. I only got round to doing this traverse in 2013, after having done the main ridge a couple of times in the 1970s. A fabulous day out by myself, brought back by the video. Only a couple of comments. Please, please lose the music. It adds nothing. And learn to pronounce the names properly; "Clack" Glas indeed! Otherwise great stuff.
Cheers, Andy 👍. I know what you mean about the music, it’s a very personal thing. Sorry it’s not for you. I’ve given up trying to pronounce the names, it’s hard enough just remembering them 😜. I’ve been pronouncing Scafell Pike wrong for years; it’s Scar-fell, not Sca-Fell. Anyway, glad you mostly enjoyed it. ATB Dave
Yep! That loud throbbing noise (music!??) simply destroyed all your great filming! I remember a glorious scramble up Clach Glas many years ago. It was amazing - and thankfully it was a peaceful experience!
I am a Munro completist, and even climbed the Inn Pin solo. But I do think this ridge is the most challenging in Britain. Congratulations.
I know what you mean Malcolm. Not sure if could do it now so glad I did it back the. ATB 🙏🏻
I did this many years ago, I'm 48 now and plan to do them and the whole ridge again before I'm 50 👍
Nice one👍. One of the best days out on Skye 🏴😎⛰️👍
It's like another world, such spectacular scenery. You really have done yourself proud with these achievements mate 🙏🏻
I started late so had a lot of catching up to do 👍
Superb! I got twitchy and lightheaded even watching this, maybe once upon a time but way beyond my abilities now. Great to view big well done
Haha. Glad you enjoyed it CC, and thank you 🙏🏻 . It was a pretty epic day, and probably beyond my abilities now, too 😊 ATB - Dave
Great video, superb views and scenery but you'll never catch me up there! Kudos 👏👏
Thanks Stu. Was a bit of a bum twitcher that one 😁

I did this 10 years ago, pretty hairy route!, one of the best in The Cuillin I'm proud to say I've climbed them all!
Nice one Anthony👍. I’ve still got 3 Munros to do on Skye. Hoping to get back there and finish off the full set. Thanks for watching 😎👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer best of luck, love your videos 🙂

Not sure what the point of the rope is with that much slack and not clipping in anywhere?
Safety rope
