- This song has a way of putting everything into perspective. There were two sisters in the Bible who were honored by the presence of Jesus in their home. Martha was busy serving, while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus and heard His Words. It can be so easy to become distracted by cares in this life. Sometimes we can even become distracted by our “good works.” Jesus told Martha, “you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion , which will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42). Each day, I want to hear His Word and respond accordingly. May I not exercise my own will above His and become lost in my “serving.” May I always be found in His presence.
