    I’d love someone to take over 2B/3B/1B. I don’t trust having all 3 of Gleyber, Rizzo, and DJ in our postseason lineup. I’m fine if we rotate those 3 as needed. But between all 3 of them and whatever catcher, that is not enough from the back of our lineup. Gleyber could and should turn it around which would assuage my concerns. But for now, we need someone who can hit there. Between Verdugo, Stanton and Jasson, I’m confident in LF/DH. And Volpe is a top 5 SS this year with the well rounded value he provides and actually a top 5 bat at the position (behind just Betts, Gunnar, Witt, and Seager). But the other 3 infield spots could use a major upgrade. The corner IF cannot be a wasteland of hitting - that’s not how you win games. Rizzo is an awesome guy, but he is the weakest link in my eyes. Gleyber has ability to flip around still. Rizzo just seems past his time

    • @wwpjd28
      @wwpjd28 24 дня назад

      McMahon would be a great add. I’ve wanted him for years. Feels like a perfect 6 or 7 hole hitter for this team that can hit well enough as a lefty and play good defense at 3B. I really wish we’d made the Michael Busch trade. He was such a great get by Chicago. Truly, we should’ve just signed Harper and then none of this would be a problem. Our top 5 of Volpe, Soto, Judge, Harper, Stanton with Verdugo/Jasson and Gleyber backing them up would make the best lineup in baseball. But Harper wasn’t a 1B in Cash’s eyes and was too obvious a move. Will never get over that.

      Gleyber is a liability, defense and offense, very streaky player still very much in love with swinging for power, he needs to take volpes approach and just make good contact! I’ve watched enough to know that gleyber is not living up to his potential and hasn’t been for the last 2 years

    As much as I love Rizzo, he's not pulling his weight in the lineup. As much as some people love Torres, he's not pulling his weight in the lineup. Right now the Yankees have the best record in baseball and they're doing it with *half* an infield. Screw the pitching; we need all our players to get on base.

    I like the idea of Jazz coming to the Yankees at the deadline. Lefty bat, with speed on the bases. Plus, he can be the second baseman for the Yankees in 2025 with Gleyber Torres going to free agency. Jazz can hit. His power numbers will certainly go up with that short porch at Yankee Stadium.

    I really like your relief pitching targets. Obviously Miller and Helmsley would be epic.. I think Sewald and Crochet would make great fits for the Yankees.. I have another one for you from a team already mentioned in this video as a seller…. Marlins Closer LHRP Tanner Scott is on an expiring contract and would make an epic back end duo with Clay Holmes.. would be great to get a couple more shut down guys (particularly with both left and Right handed pitchers) for the back end!

    Love the Idea of Garrett Crochet. He would be the perfect fit. Chafin would never shave...neither would Kitteridge. I like Kopech but I think Crochet being a lefty is the best fit. McMahon is a good fit but they wouldn't take on the cost of his contract considering they will have to sign Soto. There is no way Miller gets traded and if he did, you have to give up the farm for him. For Crochet, I would trade Everson Pierera (OF) and Carlos Navaez (C) and Cody Morris (RHP). That should get it done. If Miller were to become available, I ship Spencer Jones in a heartbeat and just resign Verdugo to play LF.

    • @wwpjd28
      @wwpjd28 24 дня назад

      Agreed. I think only one of Rizzo and Gleyber can be in the postseason lineup any given day. That’s why I’d love McMahon. I’d have loved Arraez instead too. DJ/Waldo/Berti works as 9 hole and catcher works as 8. But we need a better 6 hole hitter. Parades from Rays would be awesome too but don’t think he’s moving. A reliever or two would be nice too. Not too picky on who though. I’d love a high leverage guy like Miller or Helsley. But even just 1-2 MLB arms that are moldeable would be good with me.

    Let's talk about Christian Walker of the Diamondbacks. He's 33 and about to be a free agent so he'd be a pure rental and wouldn't cost much. His baseball savant page has a ton of red: he's in the 76th percentile of batting run value and in the 96th percentile of fielding run value. He's in the 99th percentile of outs above average over at first base. He's batting .260/.355/.466 with 12 home runs as of June 4th. I know it's not ideal to have 2 guys on your roster who are just first basemen and they're not going to deal away Anthony Rizzo who is best buds with Aaron Judge but Walker would improve the defense and help the lineup in the 5-7 part.

We already have 6 good/great major league starters and Roki Sasaki is coming over from Japan and if we're going to get a starter it should be him. Only scenario in which we should get a starter is someone who has one year of control if two guys go down with major injury. Jack Flaherty would be a great option for that if the Tigers fall out of contention.

I'd certainly love to have Mason Miller, but no way, on earth, would I trade Spencer Jones for him. We have no idea if Soto will sign a long term contract to stay with the Yankees, and if we lose him, a lot of the sting would be lessened if we have both Jones and Dominguez, waiting in the wings. I'd definitely look into Miller, though, as I just don't see Clay Holmes staying this good for the entire season. Too bad that Peraza has already been exposed as a bust, because he just seems like the type of player the A's would want. Man, it must suck to be an A's fan.

      Miller's slider is insane, there's times where he throws his slider move than his fastball and is still striking everyone out. The A's aren't trading Miller to the Yankees (or probably anywhere for that matter) unless a team does a significant overpay, and I feel like Baltimore is the only team that can give the A's that type of overpay without feeling like they got completely screwed. To be fair, I don't think they will either, and Miller stays with the A's for now so it's mostly a moot point.

    Jazz is the type of player Yankees fans love until they watch him game in and game out, y'all really don't want him. Y'all love idea of his physical traits, but would hate the actual player. There's a reason why he's not at second anymore, thinking he'd be an upgrade is laughable. Trading a boatload of prospects Mason Miller when you your coaching staff does what it consistently does with relief pitchers and now is doing the same with starters. The White Sox pitchers are probably gonna cost more than they're worth, I'd focus in on STL's bullpen for realistic options.

      Yankees have the strongest defensive catching duo in Major League Baseball and it's not even close. Anything they give us offensively is a bonus - and working with the pitching staff is a huge component of what it means to be a good catcher, and the pitching staff is doing really well.

      I get your point. The Yankees might be satisfied with what they have, or maybe don't want to tinker with a fragile situation with the pichers. I see Baltimore and Milwaukee with outstanding catchers. I feel the Yankees might want a franchise catcher at some point.

      The video suggests that it would take Spenser Jones to land Mason Miller. No way would I make that trade. Jones has a chance to be an every-day starter for a decade or more and relief pitchers (especially ones that throw that hard) almost always have short careers.
