CONSTANT LIGHTNING - Unreal Electric Storm

  • Incredible lightning activity! This storm had so much lightning, it appeared constantly lit. For licensing contact hankschyma@gmail.com
    At first this storm seemed like the typical storm complex that develops in Nebraska in June. Shooting time-lapse photography on the north side of the storm gave me clear view of the multi celled updrafts. With each passing minute, more and more lightning activity became visible. It soon become evident Mother Nature was cooking up something unusual.
    Throughout the video you'll notice little green lights glowing. These are fireflies and they were also unusually abundant this year.

    Saw a storm like this earlier this year. It was directly over my town and the sky was almost permanently ablaze for about ten minutes. The strangest thing though was the complete lack of rain, wind or thunder. It was absolutely silent as the sky seemed to flicker between day and night. Incredible spectacle.

    I love storms like this - we had one just a couple of weeks ago. Many years ago I was teaching a class of 11 year olds, and a storm blew up. It was early afternoon but became so dark street lights came on. Then the lightning began. I switched off the class room lights and for the rest of the lesson we stood and watched the most magnificent storm I've ever seen. Years later, the pupils still talked to me about the storm. Apparently, the other teachers had closed curtains and blinds, and mine were the only ones to see the storm in all its glory.

    Lightning is my favorite weather phenomena, yes even more the tornados. It is so strange and still a mystery on its formation. Heck lightning even has myths and legends....infamous ball lightning...the electric bigfoot!

    • @BladeValant546
      @BladeValant546 6 лет назад

      Basically it is unknown rather or not it exists also hard to catch on film.

      Jarred Emanuel its caused by static electricity... the bottom of the cloud and top of the cloud are oppositely charged because the ice particles and water particles rub each other and transfer electrons to each other, as it’s not a conductor so a charge builds up. Then it’s charges attracting (+-)

    You never ever ever fail to amaze me--that shot of the small town main street with the storm in the background...holy cow. Then you made it even better with the sky shot after that...and the stars. With that small town shot, you made me think of one of my favorite movies growing up, Something Wicked This Way Comes. You're awesome dude.

    Experience this only once in my 43 years, even more impressive for me was the constant rumble of thunder, not even a fraction of a second of no thunder, amazing. Lasted only about 20-30 mins, but that's half an hour I will never forget.
