    Great refresher video. Better than all the rest who think you can see their knots on 6# line

    Somebody help me out. I'm trying catch shad. What size line should I use? What type of rod and reel would work. Something like a crappie set up?

    • @ZackBostick
      @ZackBostick  5 лет назад +1

      Prolly go a little heavier if you havnt fished em before. 10lb mono. Crappie setup should be fine. Have other videos on the channel explaining more.

      @@ZackBostick truly appreciate your response brother. I have a brand new Abu Garcia 5000 laying around I was going to mate it to a crappie rod or something similar with lightweight line? Although I've never fished for shad I'm an avid fisherman. I intend to use them as cut bait for catfish on the Arkansas and Mississippi River. I live next to 3 hydroelectric dams and see people pulling shad out regularly but I never knew how they were doing it. I even tried a casting net but I can't get my boat to stay in position long enough to cast and retrieve the net legally. I'll definitely check out your other videos.

      @@randyharrison6341 No Problem! You honestly can catch them on any set up. Best fight, is light. More about what you are throwing at them and how you are retrieving. You'll get em

      Randy Harrison when retrieving stop and give a flick of wrist. My buddy landed 20 Saturday on the James in less than an hour with this rig and retrieving technique

    Where does a guy buy those spoons

    • @ZackBostick
      @ZackBostick  Год назад +1

      They have them online and even Amazon but you will find the prices are a bit bigger. I always bought them from local family owned businesses but a lot of them shut down during Covid here. Bass pro and cabelas Carrie’s them….green top is another option.

    What is your shad spoon size?

    • @ZackBostick
      @ZackBostick  4 года назад +1

      I use all the sizes. In this particular video Im not too sure what I tied up with. But in general, I use the small ones for hickory shad and the larger sizes for american.
