I shot a doe last year with 325 gr Lever Revolution at 50 yards. It was kind of underwhelming. Left shoulder broken on impact, heart deleted, right shoulder broken on exit. She still went 100 yards. Compare that with the buck I shot a few weeks before that with a bow. Entry behind the left shoulder, thru lung/heart/lung, then exit low right shoulder. Went 25 yards, laid down and died. Still wouldn't want to get hit by either.

It doesn't really matter if it's legal to own or not. If you use it in self defense you're still going to prison. We're in the same situation in Canada, and honestly most Americans too. Americans think they're so free yet if they shoot a black guy they're screwed, even if it was justified. I'd be worried less about the right to own guns, more about the right to defend yourself as a White person.

My parents used to be professional crocodile hunters here in Australia in the Northern Territory and Queensland back in the 60s when it was still legal (my parents actually met while croc hunting). Dad used to use a .222, as it was super high velocity, very reliable, relatively cheap and plentiful at the time, extremely accurate and also had enough power to punch a hole through a croc's extremely thick skull, but not blow a massive hole out the other side, which messes up the hide. He did also have his .44 Magnum (which was very new and pretty flashy at the time as I understand) in his belt as a backup, which he did have to use on a few occasions. I know he had a lever gun, but I've no idea what caliber. There was no camo gear back then (and hunters didn't really wear milsurp either). It was as bare bones as you can get. A battered and faded old Akubra hat, a pair of old 'stubby' shorts, no shoes or maybe thongs (flip flops) and if the need arose, a pair of old work boots....and maybe a blue singlet, but usually just went about shirtless and sunburned a deep walnut brown. A homemade chunky leather belt to hang the .44 and holster off, as well as a big ass pocket knife or machete, and a leather sling for the .222. funnily enough, all those hard old bastards ended up so sunburned, dirty and with clothes faded, that they all blended into the bushland perfectly. The environment was extremely harsh on everything, as well as being unbelievably hot, as well as remote, like you could only experience in places like Australia before GPS etc etc. They'd be fully out of contact for 3 to 6 months sometimes, and if you got into trouble, there was nobody coming to rescue you. They were a particularly hard old breed back then and the ones that went into the bush hunting crocs were harder still. They don't make 'em like that any more. No tacticool required lol. Old School Cool you could say.

At first I wasn’t really into the tactical lever gun aspect, but I’m starting to think it would be something else to add to the collection to remember the fad. My personal favorite lever gun look is a Marlin Alaskan Guide 45-70. I love mine

Back in the 1980s I had a Marlin 1895SS with a 24" barrel. While standard ammo was lame by today's standards, you could load your own and have a pretty hot round within 200 yards. I ised 300 gr. JHP and a hard cast 405 gr. round nose. Extremely effective against bears.

    here's how it works ...
    5 quick 5.56 rounds = 6 bad guys per 30 round mag = 6 bad guys down,
unless hiding behind cinder block wall.
or 1 45-70 per bad guy = 6 bad guys down per mag tube,
(because one of the rounds took out two guys - the first guy and the guy standing behind him)
even when hiding behind cinder block wall.

My local range has a similarly-configured Marlin 1895 on their rental wall (theirs isn't cerakoated or shortened, and it has a can - a necessity since it's an indoor range). It's brand-new: I *think* I may have been the first person to rent it last week.. Holy CARP is that thing! 300 grain SJHPs at about 2100 fps is fairly spicy, but still surprisingly comfortable to shoot.
    I gotta get me one...

I own a levergun for hunting and I love that thing. Browning BLR, mag fed in .30-06. Havent met a wild boar that liked it yet. So yeah wouldnt be my shtf gun but it is a solid hunting gun especially in close quarters, driven hunt situations.

While not 45-70, I liked the idea of a tactical .357 lever gun because it paired well with the S&W TRR8 tactical wheel gun for those times when I wanted to go tactical but retro while running out for some mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Everyone wants to kit these things out fully but imo all they need is suppressor, optic, and light. A good synthetic stock set is fine. Get the Mid-west rail if you need laser mounting.

Idk about a SPAS specifically, but a 12 gauge slug against dinos isn't a bad idea. Not to mention you have some mission flexibility with different shells like birdshot, buckshot, beanbag, explosive from BF3, etc.
I'd probably just rock the lever gat, cause vibes man.
