The dial is mounted wrong, the brass ring that are now under the dial, should go on top, pertruding into the dial, the screwholes are tapered in the brass in that ring, if you take of the dial it will be obvious, it will also make the lid easyer to lock 😊been there done that myself

Just inherited one of these plus the barometer. Was told it was broken but a little finesse and it keeps time better than most mechanical clocks.
